What can be said about Hunters of Helmsley that many people haven’t already said, well I’ll have a go. A beautiful little deli shop nestled in the corner of the market place with some amazing products on sale, a favourite of mine is the bacon and Brie with cranberry deli sandwich, the bacon is just how bacon should be, tasty, just the right amount of saltiness and thick enough to trip over! The Brie is lovely with the cranberries and there’s always a napkin in the bag to clean up with when you take it out. Another favourite is the pork apple and black pudding lattice pie that’s available by the slice or by a full pie ( oh yeah!) and is an absolute go to when I’m there. The beef and lettuce with balsamic onions deli sandwich is amazing too, plenty of beef in it, 8 slices at the last count and is wonderfully pink and tender, the only thing you will need is a hinge fitting to the jaw as they’re so thick! Finally he finished by telling me that he was going to put me over, but only if I gave him back the gold at Judgment Day. I really didn't understand this, because everyone knows that Judgment Day was on August 29, 1997.
Either way, the sandwiches were top notch and I left feeling completely satisfied with my visit to Hunters of Helmsley. It was everything that I came...
Read moreCalled into Hunters of Helmsley, having previously tried a selection of their sandwiches which have always been delicious, we decided to go for a salad box for a lighter option. Having a base of leaves, tomato, cucumber and pepper, we were given the choice of dressing and two sides - coleslaw, Waldorf, potato,, bean salad and grilled vegetable and halloumi. This was hard enough but then give further options of prawns, coronation chicken, roast ham, rare roast beef and turkey. All.looked absolutely delicious! The box at this stage was looking amazing. The quality of all the ingredients was first class and have to say we both enjoyed our lunch. The staff were friendly and very helpful - all in all a great experience. Fantastic value and cannot...
