Booked a table with a week notice, in the pub for 5 adults, 2 kids with 3 dogs. Tracey was initially very helpful, pre ordered food and confirmed our booking. Great… or so we thought.

Attended on the day and felt like we were putting people out. Considering there was 7 of us with 3 dogs we were shown to a half opened function area at the back bar with no atmosphere and felt more like a lonely restaurant and a nice carpet, NOT what we had booked with kids and 3 dogs. We asked if we could go outside to which we were told they don’t serve food outside, I walked out to see a table of 5 eating away, quite happily. So heading back in, I asked to speak to the manager, Ruba or a name similar. Who told me that food cannot be served outside due to staff shortage (the extra 30seconds it took to walk outside I did not see the big deal) we were then told we couldn’t eat in the bar because football was on and that was the busiest time… nothing said was delivered with any courtesy or apologies, despite me telling them what we had booked it didn’t matter and fell on deaf ears. It was honestly a disgusting experience. But thankfully, we found somewhere opposite who treat us nicely and with respect and actually welcomed the £350 we went on to spend. Due to this I cannot recommend this place at all to anyone. Ruined what should have been a...

Myself and my Husband got married here on the 19/12/2021. To say it was an amazing occasion is an understatement. Nothing was too much trouble for Tracey, Kieth and the team and right from the planning stages they made us feel completely at ease and made an exciting but often stressful time feel effortless.

On the day itself our guests were treat like royalty and were clearly under the impression we had spent tens of thousands on the big day due to the presentation of the venue and the attentive staff when the reality was much less with the reasonable packages they offer. I

We even had a number of guests recommending the venue to their family and friends who were planning on getting married and also had guests who said they want to stay at The Feathers again at the earliest opportunity.

As for us as a couple we will always hold the Feathers close to our hearts (as we also did before our wedding) and will never forget the way we were made to feel by the staff on our special day and the attention to detail which made our day unforgettable.

There is nothing we could do to repay the hospitality shown to both us and our guests but we will definitely be back to stay at the Feathers on our anniversary each year and also hopefully in the summer months when the area is...

We visited The Feathers today after having a lovely meal in March (fish and chips). What a difference I ordered my Haddock lightly battered and my husband ordered his well done.Waitress said "I will see what I can do"When it arrived they both looked the same with what I would call normal batter I said to waitress I ordered lightly battered she replied not in a very nice tone that was lightly battered.I wasnt happy but removed soggy batter and ate the fish which was so thin and the very small amount of chips some of which must have been left in fryer from previously they were so brown. Was asked if everthing ok I said no this not lightly battered waitress said in surly manner we cant change the batter that how it is.I wish she had said when I ordered that the "Chef" didnt know what lightly battered was. When I paid bill they knocked the service charge off .There is a 10% service charge meal was £18.95 plus 10% a total rip off.Staff uninterested and surly why ask if everything is ok then when you say no do nothing about it.This establishment need to train their staff how to prepare meals to customers requests or at least tell them they cant do it.Spoke to some locals who said they avoid it.Says it all really. Will not...

Not spitting ‘Feathers’ about this vegan lunch … A sharing lunch in The Feathers to fill up before hitting the road. Ordered the Black Truffle Mac N Cheese, Shredded Jackfruit and Hoisin Spring Roll, Halloumi Tempura, Onion Rings and Hot Chocolate with Oat Milk. The Black Truffle Mac N Cheese was a traditional macaroni looking bowl of pasta, but it had a parsley crumb on top with a scattering of watercress. It was drier than I’d hoped but it didn’t detract at all. It came with warm ciabatta and a side salad drizzled with maple and mustard sauce. £16 The Shredded Jackfruit and Hoisin Spring Roll was amazing. It was hot, packed full of veggies and crispy. There was only one but it was a big roll so I’m not spitting ‘Feathers’ about it. £8 The Halloumi Tempura was really good. It had a nice bite to it, crispy, light and dipped in the chilli jam it was uplifting. £6 The Onion Rings speak for themselves when you see the photo. Big, massive, double or perhaps triple dipped for a big bite. £5 is a lot for onion rings but they were worth it. Hot Chocolate with Oat Milk. £3.20. Very chocolatty with a Feathers motif on top. Not a cheap meal by any means but it was good and it tasted as good as it looks in the photos.

We stayed here at the weekend 10th June for a romantic get away with my self and hubby. What a lovely delightful find . Right in the centre of the square close to everything. Rooms beautiful. Little finishing touches like the tea bags an coffee maker . The decor was very high standard . Super clean an beds so comfy . The staff was super friendly and very welcoming . The dinner on evening was superb . Really enjoyed it . Waited no more than 10mins for meal . The morning breakfast was delicious, waiting for food was minutes . Even the cleaning staff in the morning was so friendly. Definitely a place wel return . Felt more than welcome . 5 stars isn't high enough rating I'd give it 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Stopped off for lunch. Pub was very clean busy and welcoming. Nice staff very well dressed. I had the lambs liver and bacon with veg and mash everything apart from the liver was lovely veg cooked lovely tasty mash and gravy. The liver was so over cooked it was like old boot leather what is a shame the portion size was more then enough. Partner had pie mash and peas with gravy. He said he's food was nice but he was still hungry it was a small portion for a hungry man. It's worth a try but £35 for 2 meals and a coke and coffee then to be both let down by different stuff can't say I would return. Fantastic presentation on the food.
