I hope this letter finds you well. I recently visited your establishment and, unfortunately, I had an experience that compelled me to bring a matter to your attention.
On 10 th September I dined at Unico lounge and placed an order for two vegetarian breakfasts ā one large and one small. While ordering, I explicitly requested a sausage to be included in the small breakfast. The reason for this request was simple: the small breakfast normally does not include a sausage.
To my dismay, upon receiving and consuming part of my meal, I realised that the sausage provided was, in fact, a meat sausage, which is contrary to my dietary preferences as a strict vegetarian.
Upon bringing this issue to the attention of your staff, I was told that customers frequently order vegetarian breakfasts and add meat components to their orders. My attempts to explain that I was not given the choice between a vegetarian sausage and a meat sausage fell on deaf ears.It seems obvious to me if I order vegetarian breakfast that I am a vegetarian. It seemed as though the waitress had made an assumption about my dietary preference without seeking clarification.
What compelled me to mention my ethnicity during our interaction was the fact that, based on her actions, I felt that her assumption might have been influenced by stereotypes or biases. I believe it is important to emphasise that making assumptions about a customer's dietary choices based on their appearance can lead to misunderstandings and discomfort.I just felt I would have been treated differently if I was white male.
It is worth noting that, regardless of my ethnicity or background, my primary concern was to enjoy a delicious vegetarian meal as per my order, which regrettably was not fulfilled.
I am sharing this feedback not to assign blame, but rather to bring awareness to an incident that left me disappointed with my dining experience at Unico. I believe that clear communication and an open-minded approach to customer requests are essential in ensuring customer satisfaction.
I hope this feedback serves as constructive feedback for your team to improve their service and avoid similar incidents...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday is Monday the 25th March. The lady that was behind the till at around 9:30 tonight was super rude. I asked her if the brisket was nice and she looked at me like Iām stupid for not knowing what is popular and what isnāt and she answered me so bluntly. Rushing us to order which I get but the facial expressions and comments were completely uncalled for. My mate wanted to get the deal where you could get a dessert for free and because we were there late he wanted it to come out with the food potentially and she was pulling faces at him and was like are you sure in a very very judgmental tone, enough for him not to order dessert and regretting it later on. I understand that we got there late but we were so lovely and full of happy jolly energy and she sucked it out of us disrespectfully and for what? Because she wanted to go home? I donāt know what the reason was but there was no need to take it out on us. This is clearly a popular spot in wilmslow so I expected the customer service to at least be decent. This is my first time in wilmslow and at this restaurant and honestly no matter how good the food is Iād rather my money go to people who deserve it and try at work. Maybe this career choice isnāt for her, even if it was a bad day there was NO need to be rude. Iāve worked in a restaurant before and I would never do that. And guess what? I wouldnāt be rude like that on a normal day outside of work. Her attitude was distasteful and whoever the manager was the guy let it all happen so maybe hire more self aware people. In this day and age aswell? Itās the bare minimum really. What is a restaurant with socially incompetent staff? Other than that the...
Read moreOh my goodness! What's happened to this place?!?! You have to wait inside the door to be seated, where there are menus and dog biscuits to greet you𫤠Friendly greeting but it was all a bit confusing as we had planned on sitting upstairs but just walking in as normal.
Sad to see that the plants are still not being watered/maintained on the roof terrace which was really disappointing. Dilapidated 'plant' on the table!
Popped downstairs to order. Very efficient and lovely girl took my ordered. Great customer service. Ordered a pint of fresh orange juice, pot of tea and the curried carrot and coriander soup.
The drinks came very quickly but were sadly spilled all over the tray and my orange juice was in my friend's saucer, under her cup! We were handed the slopped, sticky drinks but not offered a napkin to mop up! Bless her she was very new but didnāt even bring sugar.
I have to say that the soup and focaccia was DELICIOUS. Iāve never had it curried before and it was GORGEOUS, so well done chefs!!!
However, I was handed the bowl of soup, two lovely big pieces of focaccia with two teeny tiny butters and no knifeš¤·š¼āāļø by another member of staff.
As we were going the place was virtually empty but trying to get the attention of anyone just to say thank you was impossible. Even the manager who was wiping down tables outside barely looked up as we said goodbye.
Not my kind of place anymore. I gave it another chance after last time, but it's lost what it used to have. It used to be such a warm and welcoming,...
