Fri 30th May 8.ish CANNELLONI DI CARNE – Pasta filled with a rich meat ragù in a rich béchamel and tomato sauce
The dish above is the one in question, it’s so bad and not as described on the menu , pale bland and tasteless , no sign rich meat ragu, BUT forget that … I am in the hospitality game and have been for many years … when I came home last night , after going to this restaurant, I can’t describe how shocked upset and stunned I was at how we were treated … I left a protracted review last night in my emotional state and this morning I woke up and deleted it … decided to start again …I don’t as a rule leave or like reviews , I think it’s unfair on the restaurants , I feel people should politely, calmly and with respect discuss any issues and let the restaurant deal with it face to face … however on this occasion this eaterie does not deserve yours or anyone’s custom and it takes a lot for me to say that ! I was appalled at the level of hostility and anger levied at me last night by the owner manager, when I queried this dish , it was genuinely inedible , the sad thing is I started to doubt myself , as he raised his voice to me , so when I read other bad reviews (inc the same issues with the exact same dish ! ) and there are plenty of them , their is a pattern of hostility and rudeness towards many customers, I can only speak for Wilmslow but think Didsbury has had its moments too, probably the same manager. Go along if you want to but beware if you’re not happy with anything and the food is ok at best, inedible at worst , you will not be heard and probably will be shouted down ! ...
Read moreWell, I will try to put it in a constructive way. There were various faults with the service today. We ordered food, drinks and water. The water never arrived. All the time (approx. 1 hour) we were eating there was a lady standing with her shoes on the tables that people eat and placing wine and pasta on the shelves. That is not just against any health and safety standards (an accident could have caused problems with the staff and the clients), it is also not a pleasant experience to eat while someone is tidying up. All members of staff seemed to be very busy with something, but the clients. The traditional "everything is all right with the food" never happened and we didn't have the chance to ask for the forgotten bottle of water. The food was nice, but the cappuccino had "soapy" froth. An Italian client arrived and suddenly received a lot of attention from the people working there, basic thinks like an explanation of the menu and some recommendations, which we didn't (even though I speak Italian fluently). I had to stand and go to the till to pay as after 10 minutes of having finished the food, nobody came around to check additional orders or if we wanted the bill. If the owners are reading this, I do hope you take these as constructive comments. To us, we won't go back for a while, waiting for a more...
Read moreI wouldn't normally go to this restaurant as a vegan but 6 of my omni family members had booked so I didn't want to disappoint. I tried not to kick up a fuss so quietly asked the waiter if I could have an egg free pasta with a tomato sauce with grilled vegetables. I was swiftly told Courgette OR peppers, not both. When I asked if I could add olives, I was told no. I found the waiter exceptionally difficult no matter what suggestion I made, so much so that I didn't order anything at all and just watched as my family ate. I have never experienced such a rude attitude when politely trying to find something suitable to eat, and that's including time I have spent in Italy itself, nevermind a premises in Wilmslow, in the UK. Its not difficult to offer a simple veg and tomato pasta. I am half Italian so an Italian being so reluctant to make their guest happy is really disappointing. If you're wondering why we didn't tip, that's why! None of my Italian family will...
