Good burgers but they're never hot. Every time I come here I ask them to cook it now not bring it out of the oven...but I always get the same warm, reheated disappointment. Finally I've given up on Leon's even though I like the place...
There's a friendly reply from LEON below. I can't reply to it directly but want to add this comment: I think it's a system-wide problem with the way LEON makes their burgers as I had this very same problem at LEONs in London and on a motorway service station where they had a restaurant. They seem to cook the burger and keep it warm in an oven or under a light, and while it stays warm they never seem to be hot like a burger would be just after it's been cooked. McDonalds do better in this regard, even though their new McPlant burger is a disappointment and nowhere near as good as LEON's offering.
It's such a shame as the LEON burgers are so good otherwise. I'm glad the staff at LEON Brighton acknowledge the problem, which is unusual, and I hope they can rethink the way they sell their epic burgers.
Why can't they just cook a fresh one if a client specifically asks for that? This is the third time I've asked for a freshly cooked one and been served a warm one out...
Read moreMy partner and I got a takeaway from this place as we’ve been wanting to try it for ages now. Loved the salad boxes, especially the hummus which we regret not buying a tub of it haha! Sadly my review only has 3 stars because customer service was appalling. We got in and the lady serving us was really unfriendly, she even got the order wrong, luckily I noticed before they made the order, then we learned it was her first day on the job, which I get it, must be daunting, but being friendly never harmed anybody. The manager, well I assume it was the manager because he was teaching the woman how to do stuff on the till and explaining to her a curry box is not the same as a mezze box. When he got the mezze box he threw the box on the counter and went “here you go!” Which I found unbelievably rude, I decided to ignore the fact he just threw the food on the counter expecting me to grab it and thank him for it, I went to the toilet my partner sat down, he then realize that I didn’t grab the mezze box he threw at me, so he put it in a bag with the other 3 items of food we bought like he should have done from the start. Anyway food is good, customer service not so much, but I’m sure they can...
Read moreCame for a coffee and buttered toast. Toast came with virtually no butter. Asked for it to be buttered and the staff gave me a little tub of butter. Perfect and a Happy Customer 😀 Well 5 months later and a few more visits where I was given a little tub of butter, today 29th July 2025 it all changed. I'd actually come to pick up a book next door from Waterstones. When I looked inside the toast packet there was hardly any butter again so I requested a bit more. This time the manager ( I assumed as she continuosly ran around like a headless chicken) looked at me as if I'd asked for a free breakfast then proceeded to tell me she'd let me have a bit more butter this time but any future time she'd charge me! Felt like I was in Oliver Twist. Then observed her spending lots of time running around chatting with customers with laptops but no food or drinks ( zero profit) but treated me like a vagrant from Western Road so I assume the profit won't be very good. Ah well, Leon is off the list but hundreds of "decent" places left so it's all good 😊 This relatively affluent resident of 26 years in Brighton won't be subsiding the Private Equity mob...
