I came here with family for a family friendly pre Christmas show to see Leona Lewis. Where to start… there were a row of drunk people, baring in mind it was a family event more like stepping onto the set of Jeremy Kyle than an inspiring pre Christmas show.

As the drunk group were being very loud and arrogant, one other audience member got up and spoke to the loudest woman and said ‘please can you have some respect’ as she was talking rather loudly throughout the entire show. They kept going to the bar and being served more alcohol anyone would think they were at a bottomless brunch.

As things progressed, a female ‘security’ guard was told by an audience member about their behaviour and she came in and ‘warned’ the group. As she left the first woman got up and started to film the man who told her to have some respects face with a bright torch on her phone.

To this, the guard was called in again but nothing was done. Then it gets worse, towards the end of the show the other woman in their group decided to change seats directly opposite to me, she looked at me and threatened me not to put my feet on her coat as she hung her coat over her seat..

Then… towards the end she vomited all over her seat, coat and the floor stinking the place out even getting other customers to move out their seats and watch the show from the passage way including us.

To this, I decided to talk to security and the house manager. They were very incompetent making all kinds of excuses as to why nothing was done.

It baffles me how so many staff can be so incompetent and indirectly ruin it for everyone else involved. The manager didn’t see friendly or helpful at all and said ‘you should have warned us’ we did an entire section of the audience told more than one security guard. I use that role term loosely.

The manager appeared defensive, looking like she was sucking on a sour sweet or been stung by a wasp. Along with the ‘security team’ who seemed half asleep and unbothered. I’m not even sure if they knew who they were or what their role was they were so slap dash about the whole thing.

It ruined the last 20 minute of the show for the whole family and others in the audience too. With no sincere apology or urgency to offer any alternative apart from a heap of excuses.

It baffles me who puts these people in these positions where they are totally incompetent to do their job or give any basic level of customer service. The manager didn’t explain the complaints policy apart from saying ‘we could have moved you if we’d known’.

Avoid this place, unless you want to tread in sick, get threatened by drunk people who the security team and manager seem to side with, it’s gone to the...

The Energetic Experience of Brighton: A Tourist’s Perspective

As a visitor in Brighton, I find myself immersed in a vibrant and dynamic energy, a sensation that extends beyond the visible and tangible aspects of the city. The environment resonates with an almost quantum-like charge, where the interplay of light, movement, and human connection creates an atmosphere of heightened awareness and appreciation.

The reflection of sunlight on the waves transforms the sea into a shimmering expanse of refracted brilliance, each ripple carrying a sense of motion and possibility. The air, imbued with the fresh scent of the ocean and the inviting aroma of local cuisine, enhances the sensory experience, anchoring me in the present moment.

Walking along Brighton Pier, I feel a distinct pulse beneath my feet, as if the very structure holds the collective energy of countless visitors before me. The soundscape—composed of the rhythmic crashing of waves, the calls of seagulls, and the laughter of tourists—creates a dynamic and ever-evolving melody.

The streets of Brighton further amplify this sense of vibrancy. Colorful storefronts, artistic expressions, and the diverse interactions of people contribute to an environment of creative stimulation and social warmth. Musicians, performers, and local artisans add layers of cultural richness, making every moment feel uniquely charged with life.

In this setting, there is an undeniable sense of presence—a feeling of being both a participant and an observer in a continuously unfolding experience. The city’s energy is not just physical but also perceptual, an invisible yet palpable force that enhances the joy of exploration.

As I take in the surroundings, I recognize that Brighton offers more than just scenic beauty; it provides an experience of energetic connection, where each moment feels enriched by the interplay of light, motion, and human engagement. It is a place that leaves an imprint not only on memory but also on the deeper awareness of the self within a larger,...

Micky Flanagan at his best seen him twice on this tour. BUT... The person that booked my disabled plus carer plus one guest took no notice of me what so ever after explaining I

  1. don't like being up high
  2. don't like anything to close to the top of my head and the ceiling was 10 foot above my head.
  3. don't like being up high as heat rises and I can have heat fits. My seats couldn't be any higher I was extremely hot and was just having panic attacks for the hole of the 1 hour 20 minutes Micky was on stage. So NO I didn't enjoy the show. Do I remember any of the show??NO I was so busy being hot and trying to stay cool or cool down. When we got to the venue I collected my tickets went to my seats I said to the usher " thats no the seat I booked or wanted and I came back outside another usher came over I explained the problem she said she'd would call the duty manager. She arrived very tall lady I was sitting down I asked her name several times she ignored my question she didn't even make eye contact with me. Another usher came to the managers side and said somebody was complaining about there seats. The manager to the usher "dont worry Iam moving this person dyo yours can sit in her seats " I said to my usher " hold on I want to see these new seats before she gives my seats away to anybody else?? I was told the shows about to start let's just go to the new seats. These new seats were 100% the very same as the first set of seats I had rejected. The duty manager didn't seem to give a ----. I was going to be a happy customer or not. The show started most of it I don't remember as I was busy trying not to have panic attacks and worrying if I was going to have temperature fits because I was getting to hot as the seats were up near the ceiling with a big large ceiling overhang around 10 foot...

Gervais was exemplary as expected. But DO NOT GO TO THE BRIGHTON CENTRE unless you want to be abused by their rude and aggressive staff. Firstly the bars are all cash which in this day and age not only slows down service it is also an inconvenience. We were in the queue for some beers before the support act came on only to be told the bar was now closed. We then sat in our seats for at least 7 minutes without any act on stage so would have had time to be served. After the support act I made sure I was one of the first out the door to the bar, only to find a queue already there, supposedly from people who hasn't been allowed in to watch the support act. The service was achingly slow and then after 5 or 10 minutes a security guard rudely shouted that if you weren't currently being served then you wouldn't be. Luckily we were being served, but this didn't stop him shouting at my girlfriend and starting to pull down a metal barrier on her hands whilst she was waiting for her change. At the same time, other security were closing the doors to the auditorium saying they wouldn't let anyone else in and it was the artist that had stipulated this. I bet he didnt stipulate abuse his fans. This left both my girlfriend and I shaken up and once again sat in our seats for at least ten minutes before Gervais came on. I will never ever return to the Brighton centre.

2 great concerts here in less than TWO weeks! First off was Paul Heaton's 'Welcome to Heatongrad' tour, when he was ably supported by newcomer Rianne Downey during his set, and by the fantastic Zutons before it (did you know that the Zutons actually wrote 'Valerie' that was covered and made famous by Amy Winehouse [and Mark Ronson]? 🤔) Next up for me, just over a week later, was Rick Astley's christmas tour, where he was supported by a marvellous 'Big Band', and performed songs from the 'great American songbook', with jazz, swing and bossa nova thrown in for good measure! Although he said he was not going to feature his hits, he did do a superb big band version of "Never Gonna Give You Up", so he Rick Rolled us! Both great shows, with good sound, which matters to me; I recently found the audio to be terribly muffled at stadium performances by both The Killers (O2) and Billy Joel (Cardiff Principality Stadium); - I thought I was going deaf! But Brighton Centre's audio proved otherwise! (My guess is that the really big venues use multiple speaker stacks around the venue, and the DSP they use cannot cope with the audio delays 🤔)

I went to see one of my fave bands, Placebo, last Saturday. There was a notice posted everywhere beforehand asking respectfully not to take photos of videos since it restricted your own enjoyment and that of others. THE NOTICE DID NOT SAY THAT YOU COULD NOT TAKE PHOTOS/VIDEOS. the Brighton centre needs to state clearly whether this is banned or respectfully asked not to ... There was a 'crowd control' spotter at the beach shining a torch on anyone who deigned to raise their phone and then a 'crowd control' enforcer running to apprehend people like they'd just drawn a weapon. SO OVER THE TOP AND THAT RUINED PEOPLE'S EXPERIENCE FROM THOSE I SPOKE TO. incidentally when someone collapsed in the crowd it took a few minutes before assistance arrived.... If only 'crowd control' had been as keen to help as to enforce..... Very disappointing and ruined my experience.... Here is the message and the one photo that I took, as a memory in my timeline, that got me apprehended by an over aggressive control freak!!
