Really strange experience. We went in after a walk to get a coffee and cake. Whilst looking at the cakes in the cabinet we were told TWICE to sit down by the old American waitress even though we were just deciding what to order. After then sitting and waiting a long time to get served, and both agreeing we did not want to spend our money with her, we decided to leave. She actually came to the door and shouted some snarky comment at us up the street for leaving! We came in to spend money, and left because SHE was rude. Nothing to do with the cafe itself sadly, but she embarrassed herself and the business by shouting out of the door, in front of other customers. Very odd atmosphere, really unprofessional and definitely would not recommend. Please, have a word with her about her tone. How many other customers have you lost because of her? Also, maybe don’t have a glass cabinet if you don’t want people to look at your precious cakes. The whole experience was weird. Plenty of coffee options in Berwick, unless you like bad manners, I’d spend your money literally...

The food was lovely but the whole experience was dampened by the incredible rudeness of the person who took payment. She asked where we were sat and when i said we were outside she impatiently and sharply responded "yes but where?" and interrupted my attempt to describe the position of the table. Then, we were splitting the bill and I started to say "the only dishes that should be left are..." when she interrupted me with "I will tell you what is left if you will just let me finish" (presumably calculating the bill). Then as I walked away I could hear her shouting "do you want the receipt then? Obviously not!". I have no idea why she responded with such incredible rudeness, but there really isn't any excuse for behaving that way towards customers, especially as I was polite to her, even during and after being subject to her astonishing behaviour. As a result I do not recommend...

The scones were good, as was the coffee and it was a nice place to sit in! We were disappointed with the "clotted cream" which was just butter but we still got charged for cream. Also we weren't impressed with the customer service. We were enjoying our morning coffee while doing some computer work, had been there only about 45 minutes and had just finished eating when we were asked if we wanted anything else. We said not right now but we are going to order lunch in a bit, but instead we were told our table was reserved in half an hour and we had to leave. The cafe was almost empty so I'm not sure why they didn't want our business for lunch! Initially liked it but didn't like getting kicked out after such a short time as a paying customer, so not very...

After a lovely walk round Berwick-upon-Tweed, we stopped here for lunch. We were quickly seated by the window and we order coffee and the cheese sandwiches and the egg mayonnaise sandwiches. We also ordered a fudge chocolate cake and a key lime pie. The sandwiches came well presented with salad on the side and some very tasty hand fried crisps. I had the egg mayonnaise on granary and it was delicious. Beautifully soft with a generous amount of mayonnaise and the cheese sandwiches were just as tasty and disappeared just as quickly. I had the key lime pie and it was divine. I ate it very slowly to savour the tangy smoothness with the biscuity base. All washed down with a much needed coffee. Would definitely recommend it.

Lovely little place which served great coffee and some lovely home cooked food. The quiche was exceptional, lots of flavour with the egg having a light taste and delicate pastry base. Nothing like your typical bland, soggy mass produced catering variety. 11 or of 10 in my wife's opinion. There was a selection of cakes available which were clearly not bought in. The ones we sampled were a cut above. The staff were great and very congenial. A little cramped but well with a visit for a "light bite".

Called in for coffee and cake. We were only in town to break our journey. Staff were very friendly. The food was really good, the drinks were very nice. Set in a nice location slightly detached from the main town. Has a car park next to it (not owned by this business). Right next to the waterfront. Not a big place, but it's definitely a good place to go.
