Marine — Restaurant in England

Where to begin with this one.

Firstly, whilst the staff were friendly enough, the service provided was terrible. Stood at the bar for about 10 minutes waiting to be served and when it finally was my turn the girl behind the bar walked off to take care of something else for a few minutes before coming back and trying to serve somebody else that had just stepped up. After finally placing the order the food took around 40 minutes to arrive for 2 children's meals and burger and chips, I then had to ask for the desserts and drinks I ordered with the kids meals to be brought out. There was no follow up on it either as in "is everything okay with the food?" etc. which brings me to my next point.

The food, was absolutely vile. Firstly, my kids both ordered the cheese and tomato pizza and what came out was essentially a microwaved sponge with tomato puree and cheese on it with a spoonful of beans and a few chips next to it. My dish was the blue cheese burger which apparently comes as 2 smashed patties. Again, they weren't smashed patties at all, it was 2 rock hard patties which may have been briefly shown some blue cheese, and the bun it was served on was STONE cold. Also ordered a side of chicken strips which when they came out were mostly batter with a "hot honey dip" which was room temperature honey in a pot with zero seasoning in it or anything. The only reason it didn't get thrown right back at them is because we were all ravenous and were attending a panto that evening and didn't have any time to go anywhere else at this point. Cost me over 30 quid for that lot and it was absolutely crap. I wish I had taken pictures of it all just to show how poor it all was. It wasn't even up to the standard of a whetherspoons.

And lastly the place itself wasn't anything like clean the tables were sticky and still had drinks on them from the last people who were there. The seats were manky and ripped and needed changing desperately. I came out of the place stinking like a chip pan despite not being anywhere near the kitchen too.

All round terrible experience for us after looking forward to what I thought would be a nice treat for us all after spending a day on the beach etc. If you're reading this review do yourself a favour and go literally anywhere else to avoid the same disappointment I had. I'll never step foot in a Greene King again let...

Well where to start we booked as a family one of the booths outside for 5 of us and a dog, we had reserved a booth and two had boards stating reserved and blocked off these wernt ours when we asked they had "forgotten" to put ours out.

Upon trying to order drinks the app didn't work and what turned up eventually after 20 minutes and going in to ask twice was completely wrong.

We tried the app again as the service in person was abysmal the three people we tried to order through clearly didn't want to be there or have much of an idea what they were doing, so we went back outside to use the app after being ignored, The restaurant wasn't overly busy and despite being relatively early eating there was no Sunday dinner options. The food turned up faster than the drinks, and was stone cold, the chicken was pink there was no flavour, the mac and cheese hadn't ever seen any cheese, the sharing platter was not a sharing platter at all it was tiny, we mentioned to the waitress how disappointed we were and were met with a shrug.

When the waitress came to clear our table we had to catch plates as she couldn't pick them up properly and when she managed sho only did due to being told how to hold them by us, we asked a simple question to her "can she take a drinks order" her response use the app, its not hard, was a suprise to hear, it was a simple question that didn't need to have that response.

Needless to say we were appalled by the forgetfulness, the raw, cold unpleasant food, the waitress and bar staffs unprofessional approach and lack of care.

None of us will ever return...

We came here this afternoon to try the food out, me my partner and his 2 boys came along, we had the gammon and the boys had something off the kids menu. The boys wanted chicken nuggets and chips and we decided his older boy should have the big eats on the menu which was £1.50 more so we paid extra and it stated 4 chicken nuggets on the smaller menu and chicken katsu(chicken nuggets) on the big eats menu but i asked if the kitchen could not put the curry sauce on. When the kids meals came out they were identical to each other which i wasnt expecting as we paid more for the bigger childs meal,so when i questioned it with the manager, she argued with me for 10 mins saying she wasnt obliged to tell me it was identical, i asked her why didn't u just tell us we were basically paying for sauce we didnt want and she told me to take it up with Greeneking and she couldn't do anything as she put in the order i requested, why couldn't she have been honest and said without the katsu curry sauce its identical to the £4.99 menu. I had to keep repeating myself over and over again because i didn't seem to be getting through to her, and i wasn't giving in. In the end she offered us a FREE fruit shoot,but it wasn't free at all because of the £1.50 extra we were charged. Its a real shame because our food was really nice but the service was shocking.
