Minoffles Northampton — Restaurant in England

It’s a weird one.. I visited Minoffles in Northampton on the evening of August 6th. I was hoping to get a slice of Chocolate Cheesecake. I asked one of the staff members if they had it, and they went to check in their bakery. When they came back, they said they had the cake, but I needed to buy the whole thing.

I agreed and got the cake they brought. But here's the twist: the cake was actually from Cake Inn (the adjacent shop), and it was closed at the time. I asked the staff member if both shops have a common bakery, and she said yes. The worst part was that the cheesecake didn't taste good at all. Sadly, we ended up throwing the most of it as no one would have it.

I don't think a bakery or dessert shop would sell you something they didn't make themselves. It's like if Cake Box sold you a cake made by someone else; if it turns out bad, it would hurt their reputation and how people think of their brand.

To be honest, I won't be going back to either of these dessert or cake shops. In my view:

The best dessert place in Northampton is Heavenly. The best cake place in Northampton is Cake Box.

I’ve always loved Minoffles – it used to be one of my favourite places, and I was a regular for their salted caramel latte. Unfortunately, the experience has gone downhill. The staff seems to keep changing, and with that, the quality of the food and drinks has dropped noticeably.the latte became very milky and could hardly taste the coffee..

Previously, when Aditi was working, everything felt consistent and well made. Yesterday, I visited with my kids (who usually love Minoffles)yesterday, but the crepes we received were wafer-thin, undercooked, and broke apart like crisps. We also ordered a waffle, but it was so thin and flat that it hardly resembled a proper waffle.

To make matters worse, there was only one lady serving not just our table of six, but also managing other walk-ins and orders at the same time. She was clearly overwhelmed, and it showed in the service and quality.

It’s a real shame to see such a good name being let down by inefficient staffing and lack of consistency. I truly hope management looks into this because Minoffles has the potential to be amazing again – but right now, it’s...

I mostly just go for their milkshakes to grab for me and my older sister, let me tell you, they are divine! Their Skittles one especially tastes so delicious and creamy.

I went in today and it was severed by one of the staff members named Usman or Osman (apologies for the spelling!) alongside one lady with a hijab who unfortunately I didn’t catch her name who were so nice whenever I come and get this drink. Usman/Osman practically remembered my order as I walked into the shop today! He is genuinely a nice and friendly man who said himself he likes talking to the customers, getting to know them and asking them about their day and does deliver great customer service as well.
