Wandering across Paignton seafront with favourite wife, pet pooch and during the obligatory biblical summer mid campervanering adventures, we ventured across the far side of the seafront at Paignton, and a selection of potential eateries.
After much menu gazing, we ventured into this gem of a bar-cafe, seduced by the evidence of the presence of the aging population, appreciating their uncanny ability and disconcerting skill to sniff out a good'un when it comes to an afternoon snack.
Whilst the weather was turbo meh, the welcoming nature of the team and boundless patience of the staff was heartwarming, with even the most technically void members of the public being patiently walked though the merits of the contactless payment system.
We ordered from the specials, two fish and chips and a macaroni cheese chaser The former was well cooked,, and the latter delicious.
Whilst I'll freely admit that I had portion control envy of those who simply ordered a sandwich (with chips and salad), I cannot say I walked away hungry, and at my age I do need to worry about getting portly...whilst I sensed the pooch most certainly liked the inadvertent offering of Mac and cheese which fell conveniently nto her open mouth ... Although tbh I doubt she could taste it by the speed it was devoured!
All in all. A great and reasonably priced experience with great staff and good food.
Definitely go for a sandwich if you're hungry, or sneakily order a Mac and cheese to accompany the fish...

The staff are always happy and friendly, the music can be a little annoying ( too loud not background ) but the coffee is always good. Toasted tea cakes are good but plastic sweet strawberry containers are not. And they offer competitive prices for Main courses like Fish and chips for £8.50. t's a good location at the west end of Paignton and what we love is the fact it is always open giving the locals a place to have a coffee....even on a Monday, or rainy days and in winter when some establishments shut and don't care about us locals. And they sell alcohol! Thanks and...
Read moreMolly's is hands down the best bar/cafe I have ever visited. The welcoming owners make you feel like you've known them for years, and the service is nothing short of fantastic. One night, we enjoyed fresh pizza, and on another, a delightful seafood platter—both were simply amazing.
The location, overlooking a tranquil harbor, is magical. Live music is a daily treat, with our favorite being an incredible ABBA band—the best we've ever seen and heard. I can't express enough how great this place was for us. My only regret is not living closer so I could visit more often. Definitely make a point to visit Molly's—you won't be...
