I booked direct for a 5-night stay & obtained a preferential rate. The hotel is an approx. 10 mins. flat walk from the train & bus stations. Front-facing rooms offer a sea view. It’s worth noting, however, that there’s a lot of traffic noise from the adjacent Sands Rd. |My good-sized, first-floor room was very comfortable. Carpeted, which I like. I was impressed by the facilities. A proper kettle, tea & coffee sachets ( caf. & decaf.) mini fridge, plenty of storage, radiator heating, v. comfy bed, TV with multiple channels. Good walk-in shower, nice towels. I couldn’t get the plug to close the sink outlet, but fortunately I always travel with one of those rubber plug hole covers. Igor is a charming host, efficiently serving the toast & tasty cooked breakfasts. Also on offer … a variety of cereals, orange juice, fruit & snacks. |This proved to be an excellent base from which to explore part of South Devon. The public transport links are excellent. Nearby Brixham is delightful & there is a beautiful, but challenging, coastal path walk between there & Paignton. Also not to be missed … Dartmouth & of course, a journey on the...
Read moreA well presented traditional seafront hotel, when traveling to the coast especially in the English Rivera you definitely want to stay in a traditional hotel.
The hotel is set back from the seafront but only by a few 100 yards so the front rooms have lovely views of the sea front and Paignton pier, with the secure onsite parking at both the front and rear of the hotel there is always place to park up and know your car or motorbike is safely looked after.
This lovely hotel offers a breakfast with multiple time slots to suit everyone's needs. the breakfast itself can either be a full English cooked to the individuals preference or a continental breakfast with plenty of tea and coffee on hand, plus with the lovely waitress service once your sat down at your table looking out over the bay there's no need to move until your adventure begins.
All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel to all the owner is warm and friendly to all and always ahs a smile on his and so do the staff. You'd be daft not to...
Read moreStayed here with my wife for 3 nights in April. This was a Monday checkin. |The hotel is located within a 3 minute walk to the beach and town centre. Some rooms offer a seaview. Private off-road free parking in front and behind the hotel. |Our room had a seaview. It was clean. The decor was a bit tired. The bathroom was modern with a walk-in shower. Good shower with plenty of hot water. The room had a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. Power points were lacking. There were no usb points either, so take your own charger. ||The breakfast was average, offering the usual full English. Continental available too. Cereals, tea, coffee, toast and orange juice were also available. The breakfast has to be ordered. Breakfast room was clean and well laid out. ||The staff were very friendly. It appears to be a husband and wife only operation. This hotel is not wheelchair friendly. If you are looking for a reasonably priced break away, I can recommend...
