Very Disappointing Experience at Mumbai Bites
We are tourists and were really excited to try Indian food during our visit. Unfortunately, our experience with Mumbai Bites was very bad. We placed our order over a phone call and clearly asked for full portions. However, when the food arrived, they gave us only half portions — even though we paid for the full amount.
The curry was extremely sweet and did not taste like proper Indian food. It felt like it was made without care. The packaging was very poor, and they didn’t give us any tissues, and spoon which is basic and should always be included.
What made the experience worse was the bill. They charged us more than double what the food should have cost. We asked for a receipt, but they didn’t give us one with the names of the food item she. It felt like they were hiding something and trying to take advantage of us just because we are tourists.
To make things even worse, the staff didn’t even know how to speak politely with customers. They were rude and dismissive when we asked questions or raised concerns.
We were really disappointed. This is not the kind of welcome we expected in a place known for its food and hospitality. We hope the restaurant improves its service and treats customers.. local or tourist — with...

In my experience we can’t label it as a restaurant. It’s a takeaway with some sit down meal option. Where you will find 3 tables of four and one table of two. We started with vegetable platter consist of alo tikki, onion Bhaji and alo chat. Alo tikki had no salt and seasoning at all. Asked the waiter about it he replied he is aware about it and his defence was white people don’t like salt and seasoning at all and it’s made for them only. Alo chat was diced of potatoes with some cucumber and chat masala. I wonder how and where they got this recipe from? Chat is supposed to be mouthwatering chatpota food which supposed to be add your appetite. Onion bhaji was only thing okay there.
Coming to main course, we choose chicken shahslick and tawaa chicken. Chicken shahalik was okay with lots of red color which I didn’t like. Despite the Chicken was very dry as the chicken pieces was very tiny, Still okay to eat. Taawa chicken supposed to be very tasty dish to enjoy but it turned out a some tikka chicken with gravy with lots of chillies. Very unpleasant dish to enjoy. Boiled rice was not as fresh as it...

Just had our takeaway from Mumbai Bites and it was excellent. We ordered for 7 adults, (with a side portion of chips to keep the small kids happy). In all l, 7 main dishes, 4 rice to share, some sides and naan bread, plus the usual poppadoms. All of which came in at £100 (with a 10% discount for collection). Usually when we order a large amount like this, we end up with a dish wrong somewhere, the food slightly warm and not hot, or something not right somewhere. But not here!!!
The food was superb, and freshly hot, so much so, that it was cooking my leg in the car on the way back to the Airbnb. Every dish was spot on, not a single mistake, and the quality of it all was excellent. Every dish tasted different (sometimes weve found that dishes can taste quite similar) and everyone enjoyed their meal immensely.
We all would highly recommend and had we been staying for longer and not ordered on our last night, we would be going back for sure.
TLDR: great food, lovely people, hot and fresh food, plus a discount for collecting. Would order again for sure and it...
