Nikky's Fish and Chips — Restaurant in England

I’m not sure why this rates so highly. It’s ok but it’s not brilliant. The food is cooked to order, and the fish came out of the fryer piping hot and very crispy. However, once wrapped in paper for the short journey to the beach, the steaming hot food had nowhere for the steam to go, so the beautifully crispy batter turned to mush. The fish itself was lovely and fresh. Again, the chips were freshly cooked and again, by the time I got to eat them they were soggy and not all that appetising. I have to say that value for money was incredible compared to other chip shops. Haddock and chips was £6.40, I have yet to find anywhere else, either at home or on the coast, that comes anywhere close to this price. This is has to be the best Fish and Chips in the UK and probably the world! I travel over 3000 miles from the Cayman Islands to eat both their amazing chips, as well as their incredibly tasty Cod! The husband and wife team are warm and friendly to their customers and have an excellent system in place when placing an order on their vast menu and cooking our order from fresh! We were driving through Paignton town looking for a Fish and Chip shop when we came across Nikky's and I am glad we did the chips were very nice which for me is one of the most important components for a great Fish and Chips shop.
