Noodle Lane 米巷 — Restaurant in England

My friend and I was looking for a nice place for lunch and we stumbled upon this one, we were greeted by a young girl who showed us to the table, an English a la carte menu was given to us unbeknown to us the next table was given a Chinese menu when we saw what they ordered would have been what we’d loved to have ordered, we had not been asked or given that option by the girl, we waited what seemed ages for someone to take our order and finally a young man came, when the drinks arrived, it’s was jasmine tea (tea bag) and there was only one tea bag in a big tea pot for 2 , we challenged that and the lady owner said it’s regulations! Really?? Regulations to charge £2.80 per person but only give one tea bag?? The owner was rather petty but it means we have paid for a meal which portion size was small and expensive for one vegetarian tofu hotpot and shredded chicken with 2 small bowls of plain rice £33.68 , so not too much to ask for a decent pot of tea for two ( not with one tea bag) diluted, so will not recommend or...

We ordered the signature roast duck (crispy skin and tender meat), spicy mao cai (the staff kindly adjusted the spiciness from extra hot to mild, very considerate service), and four bowls of noodles with different flavors (rich broth and generous toppings). The food here is actually very tasty, and the portions are generous. The restaurant space is spacious and comfortable, which makes it a nice place to sit down for a meal.

However, the service was just average – not bad, but not particularly friendly or attentive either. What really stood out to me was being charged £1.50 for a very small bowl of dipping sauce. This felt quite unreasonable, as in most similar restaurants sauces are usually included with the meal.
