Dick Turpins grave — Attraction in England

The headstone is in a well kept small cemetery ; it’s really the only visible grave as it has a small but prominent headstone whereas the other headstones are all flat in the ground. When I visited there was a very new footpath around the plot with the grave at the head. There is an information board at the entrance with a little background information, however speaking to a local this is “allegedly “ the burial place of Dick Turpin -a good tourist focus. The grave is not far from one of the City Walls but you’ll need a little help from Google...

although visiting Dick Turpins grave on several occasions,this is really only to have been 'ALLEGED' to have been his final resting place,and I think just there to attract tourists,he may well not even be under this grave,and unless it was dug up and bones examined for proof,we could all be being outrageously conned,so visit by all means,but there's loads if sceptism about Turpins real...

A few minutes walk from the route of the town wall, located behind the Court buildings. The grave has a prominent headstone, but the grave itself is a patch of bare earth (everywhere else in the graveyard is grassed). There is a small tableu providing some history and background of Richard Turpin. Not much else to see unless you want to get some rubbings from the other...
