Its a beautiful restaurant with a beautiful ambience but the service was a let down. it was below par.
After arriving by 10 mins we asked one of the waiters if they can make a small portion of mashed sweet potatoes for the baby and it took them 30 min to bring that. not impressed!!! as we told them it was for the baby.
It took the staff nearly 45 mins from ordering to bring us our food and we weren't told that it would take that long. we ordered starters and olives. after 30 mins we asked about the olives and we got told that they forgot and if we didn't ask they would have done nothing.
When it came to food, one of my friend's ordered the vegan Tzatziki and she got something different that wasn't nice at all. the waiter told her that they got her order wrong and will offer us 10% discount and if she didn't like that dish he would get her another one. Part of the tiziki dish was a small plate of Greek bread. she returned that dish because it wasn't nice at all and she wasn't aware that the bread needed to go back with it as they have served our starters with the main . She ordered another dish. My catch of the day fish dish was full of bones which made it annoying to eat even though it was nice but lacked seasoning. what a shame!!!!
Here was the SURPRISE when it came to the bill, i looked at the bill, added all the items and found there was no 10% discount and we have been charged for the bread and the baby food. when we enquired about the discount he said he removed "the service charge", we were like " service charge" is an optional thing and you haven't given us the promised discount for your mistake. Because we did that he gave us the discount. So if we didn't enquire about this he would have conned us by pretending to give us a discount for their lacking service.
IT WAS SHOCKING!!!! They could have turned this around by being honest and transparent when we were billed and not charge us for the bread!! It was their mistake after all. That would have been a good customer service gesture and we would have given them a positive review but they cared about money and to charge for everything even their mistake.
So please be careful when you are billed. lets say that we won't be coming here again and i will be telling all my friends not to go there. we wanted to support our local business, but...
Read moreHave been looking forward to coming here since I first started following on Instagram. Extremely dissapointed. We had to sit outside as wedding on (completely fair enough). However staff were rude and short. Where we was sitting my son was getting burnt and the sun was right in our eyes. Could see we were uncomfortable but didnt seem to care, instead asked the table next to us if they would like their food inside, I then said “we would” however we got the food delivered to us outside. My son mentioned water dripping but again didnt care and walked off. Water served was warm. Asked for a coke and the woman said “diet”? I said no, she said “well thats all we have got” she said that they have sold out of a lot of stuff. When I asked what else wasmt available, she didn’t answer but proceeded to say “Its bank holiday, so its expected”. No friendly or welcoming at all. I had a starter and an orange juice then we went inside to get the bill and went to a different restaurant to finish our meal. Starter was octopus and didnt look like the instagram pic and wasnt great. My son had the greek sausgae and he said it was nice but just wanted to go because of the sun. Overall not good service, kids meal doesnt include dessert or drink so overpriced. Food nothing special. Table next to us was saying how long the service takes and considering going elsewhere. Didnt offer sauce to go with meal. Wanted to love this restaurant but complete opposite! Will not be returning.
Scary! I put up a constructive review, all of which was factual, only to be greeted with a response stating Im not well and its not true. The person who also responded has taken the time to find out what I do for work. This is extremely weird and worrying. You cannot get mad at someones review, in this case, your service was not up to standard! I write when its good and I write when its bad. Just shows gow unprofessional and bitter you are. If you genuinely dont believe what 8 have stated then maybe check your cameras. Why would I leave a restaurant and go to another if the food and service was good? That makes absolutely no sense, and stalking me because its a positive , glowing review is wrong and I will be...
Read moreI visited recently for my friend’s birthday. We experienced great service by a kind waiter who had to work alone on a busy evening. Despite that he was very helpful.
Regarding the food: This is Greek gourmet food restaurant rather than what you would find in a traditional restaurant. I see a lot of people commenting on that and there’s plenty of other places in Brighton for Greek fast food. Me and my friends enjoyed the food and the selection of Greek wines (we had a Lazaridis Rosè - highly recommend). Me and my friends have some recommendations regarding the food: We had Melitzanosalata (one of the best I’ve tasted in Brighton!) and Tzatziki Dips - we thought the dip amount could be bigger portions as they usually belong to the easier to prepare dishes and they were between £5,70-£6 per dip. We had Xtapodi (=octopus) which we had before. I agree with raising the prices when times get difficult but the portion used to be bigger. I would recommend updating the photos on the website/google to set expectations as portions have changed. The Prawn saganaki: this was my least favourite, the description could be a bit better to avoid disappointment. Please mention it’s Bisque so that people don’t expect feta bits as this tends to be peoples favourite part of this dish and since there’s only 4 prawns maybe consider King prawns. Highly recommend the melitzanosalata and pitta bread to share for the table, and Mousaka as a main was amazing and the portion was big. Would...
