Flavour — Restaurant in England

Called before booking confirm that they could accommodate a severe nut allergy, they said they could as all allergen meals were prepared separately. Mixed up the order and gave the allergic customer the wrong plate. Server then gave her the right plate (in her other hand), and said all food was safe as they have no nuts in the kitchen, despite having a walnut sandwich on the menu. Completely lost trust in the safety, nut allergy customer didn't eat.

Food took about 45 minutes to arrive, despite server saying 10-15 minutes. Only 1 server taking orders/cleaning tables/running the till and only 1 person cooking. Service took a long time and some orders were incorrect, many tables left before ordering. Chef would interrupt server to speak to her while server was taking our order.

Shakshuka was fine, basically tinned tomatoes and some red pepper thrown in, nothing interesting. Stopped eating once I found a long black hair in it.

Overall a rubbish experience - service was chaotic, food was mediocre, and could have ended in an anaphylactic shock if we hadn't been...

A comfortable and welcoming atmosphere ❤️ A little gem in the making. I thoroughly enjoyed a scrumptious Bombay Tuna Melt Sandwich which was served on a wooden board giving the decent food presentation a rustic vibe! I was expecting can tuna as one usually gets in a sandwich but not here at Cafe Flavour. ….they used proper tuna sourced from a fishmongers. Served with a very tasty side salad drizzled in a delicious salad dressing. They have an appealing diverse menu that caters for all diet preferences and what an amazing drinks menu on offer! I got the feeling that they care and put a lot of love into the preparation and service they provide. I’m all for supporting a family run business in this day and age against chain restaurants. We both ordered a 'Full English Breakfast' each on Bank Holiday Sunday. I asked what was in it and was told 2 Eggs of your choice, Sausage, Bacon, Tomatoes, Beans, Mushrooms, Fried Sourdough bread and toast, I also ordered Blackpudding. When it arrived I was disappointed that it looked a little messy that the beans were nearly covering all of the plate with the Sausage and Bacon hidden underneath, with my first mouthful of the beans I realised they were 'Chilli beans', not what I would expect with a 'Full English'. This marred the taste of everything else on the plate for me, also the Bacon was quite undercooked! This left both me and my Son-in-Law...
