I had a deeply disappointing experience with Pepe’s Peri Peri, Luton when ordering through Uber Eats. After waiting 1.5 hours for my food, I decided to call the restaurant to check on the delay. It took several tries to get through, and when I finally connected, the call was frequently disconnecting while I was trying to explain the issue. I had to keep redialing, only to face more frustration when the line stopped connecting altogether for a while.
When I eventually managed to speak to someone, I was told my order had been delivered to the wrong address because the rider had swapped it with another. When I asked what could be done, the response was shocking,they said they couldn’t do anything about it and simply hung up.
I had to call back again to insist on a solution. After wasting more of my time explaining the issue, they finally gave me the Uber Eats customer service number. While I understand that the mixup is all the rider’s mistake, the restaurant showed no accountability or willingness to help resolve the matter. In the end, I never received my order, nor was I offered a refund or replacement.

Read moreI have been coming to pepes for over 10 years when the staff were very friendly and accommodating, I was disappointed and disgusted by how a member of staff spoke to me today, I placed a takeaway order and was waiting on the side of the counter when the Asian women with glasses told me to move in a very aggressive manner in front of over over 10 customers, she should not be at the front and serve customers yet should not even have a job in such an environment, I was so shocked at her disgusting language and lack of manners, pepes used to be such a family friendly place yet has let the local community down, secondly when a customer spends over £10.00 on a meal why do they charge for additional sauce which should be common practice, a chilli and garlic sauce should be complementary.
