I decided to check out the new Royal Taste takeaway menu because I was celebrating a new job and I had heard good things about it. I was not disappointed. The food was delivered on time and the main dishes were packed in numerous sealed plastic containers.
I laid out all the containers to confirm I had everything I ordered. The first thing I noticed was the gorgeous smell of the different dishes, all mixed together, not in any way overpowering. As you can see from the photos, we have white crockery which really made the colours of the food stand out. One trick to consider is warming your plates and dishes to keep the food from cooling off whilst you serve it – especially if you have a lot of dishes.
It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that takeaway means eating from your lap in front of the TV. But as you can see from the photos a simple tablecloth and dressing with everything served out onto crockery at the table can turn a takeaway into a sophisticated pleasure shared with family (and friends soon!).
The food tasted incredible with subtle mixtures of spices. Some people, including me, find the texture of food part of the appeal and everything was cooked to perfection.
It’s easy to recommend the Royal Taste for your next Indian...
Read moreA very clean and well presented restaurant tucked away near Creach Castle.
The food is nice a fresh, I visited on a quiet lunchtime and it was good all hot and of a good quality.
There is a good section of dishes here giving you a good mix of Asian cuisine. Nothing especially spicy incase you are worried about that.
The dishes ar the typical blend of sweet curries etc which have a good blend of spices leaving you wanting more even when you can't fit it in.
It would have been nice to see something like chipati and maybe some other varieties of rice added in and the ones that are here very much taste the same but once mixed with your choice of sauces, vegetables and meat you dint notice it so much.
Unlike another buffet in the local are, these guys have a salad bar which u was quite pleased to see.
Dinner service is £5 more than lunchtime which I think is reasonable for the price and the selections available.
There is a good selection of deserts which are of a reasonable quality but it has to be said, compared to another local buffet, the ice cream is a much better quality and there is coffee included. What's not to like.
I would highly recomend especially if you sre looking for something a little diferant but jot completely outside...
Read moreExtremely disappointed! We saw great reviews of this restaurant, we were very much looking forward to our family meal but it was a huge let down. The man that served us didn’t speak enough English to answer any questions so kept shouting to his colleague in their native tongue. Then another member of staff was supposed to give me allergen information. There were lots of ‘that should be ok’ answers, each time I asked him to check and confirm. He went off to the kitchen and returned with an answer, but with so many dishes this was an unnecessarily long and difficult process. Then we waited for the food to be brought out…. The sushi was brought out 6-8 pieces on a plate to the fridge, that wasn’t even enough for one piece per table that was in! And it took well over half an hour for that to be replenished each time. As as a side note, it was nothing like the sushi in the images! Much of the food was either overly spicy or overcooked, dry and hard. The labelling wasn’t helpful… grilled chicken wouldn’t usually be saucy and spicy! The chicken in the Korma and Tikka was so dry it crumbled like sawdust in my mouth. I hate waste and only take the amount I know I will eat. Sadly our table produced a lot of waste in our hunt for...
