The Hollywood Bowl — Restaurant in England

So last night I went there with my partner friends and kids and had such a poor experience! First of all it took an hour for them to bring our mains from when we had our drinks... we did not order any starters plus there was only one other table in there apart from us so there was no reason as to why we should of waited so long as it was not even busy! We got there at 7.25pm and litterally orserved straight away. Our food came out just after 8.40pm buy that time we was mega hungry. When the food did come out it came out in pieces. For example we got sources about half hour before the food came out, then the seafood platters came out and it does NOT look like what's pictured next to it on the menue... the prawas arrested uncooked and un seasoned and they are sooooooooooo small! It's not a sharing plater at all you get like 3 calamari battered wings that were also wet han full of white bait and lots of salad by salad I mean lettuce! Not worth the money at all so that alone I would not recommend! After the seafood platter came out they had to wait 5 mins for the bread which again was probably microwaved as it was soggy and not de frosted properly. and then after that another 5 mins for the sources.... my kids did not like the kids food the sausages was hard. . Chips were nice and the meatballs did not get touched aswell. I orderd the 5 and jive and again... 3 big onion rings, half a rack of ribs baby ribs and 5 mushroom garlic... not enough for a sharing platter at all... I got the same amount of curly fries that comes with a normal meal... plus my onion rings and meat was cold! I just gave it all back. Last time I went here a few years ago we had an amazing experience in regard to food but deffo gone down hill and we won't be going there ever again so avoid! If you are going there avoid the sharing platters not worth it at all and the burgers are like burger van quality... not like restaurant burger... if I could give it zero stars I would but no option to plus my partner has been puking all...

I hadn't been here for around 7 years but regularly went when I was younger and it was allways nice food and pleasant staff however this time we still had pleasant staff and the resturant inside is a nice place to sit and enjoy a meal but the food itself wasn't the best we had nachos wich where just very basic nothing special I would never put cheddar on nachos unless it was a mixed blend with mozzarella this was just cheddar not fully melted either but cheese and crisps is what it is not offensive probably the best part of the meal. I ordered a Greek kebab chicken pork Greek sausage with rice bread salad and chips. Food was piping hot but all the meat was soo so dry the rice was nice bread over toasted basiclly a crisp chips where good salad not so much far to much olive oil. Onion rings side where the best part of the meal for me. My partner has empire state burger he said it was really dry and pretty bland not enough sauce for a burger of that size. I didn't really enjoy my cocktail so moved on to a bottle of wine wich was awful kissing tree white zinfandel was really hard to drink even with the glass of lemonade i brought to add to it. Anyway we decided to try a dessert I got a truckers nut cream chocolate icecream I think its called wich I barley touched as the nuts where so bitter almost tasted burnt we ate as much as we could so that we didn't go home hungry but we won't return the menu really needs updating it's so old and outdated now and that might even be okay if it was cooked well but they need a new chef I felt like I was watching a Gordon Ramsey programme its just so outdated and needs a new chef however the staff was lovely and we did have a great laugh because the food was so bad we laughed out way through it so I still had a good night for wich I paid and left a tip but the one tip this place needs is new chef and updated menus and as lovely as all the staff are I hope they take...

I've slept on this review because this is someone's business and their hard work is important. What was ok / good was the starters and the appearance of the restaurant, clearly alot of work went into place.

The main thing was service. Sat down just after 17.30 and things were extremely slow. Staff not attentive and at points rude. Had to ask for glasses to be removed as table was getting cramped with dead glasses. Had to ask for more drinks. Had to ask for plates to be removed. Never been in a restaurant where they deliver drinks one by one, dinner one by one, from the point of the 1st meal arriving on the table there was 8 / 10mins long minutes until the last meal arrived singularly with gaps.... table of 8.

Quality of food was poor, cheese burger a stable of a USA themed place was cold, extremely compacted and cold and minus the cheese. Sent back arrived with 2 ice cold slices of cheese stuck on the top.

Lamb shank thing was dry, tasted very salty and for the price extremely underwhelming. Chicken on the chicken and ribs was overcook dry and blackened. Ribs were quite nice.

Some ingredients seemed cheap..... and for the price point it should not seem cheap.

To be fair the curry was very nice and maybe we caught the place on a bad day. I did speak to the owner who apologised but not really accepting of any negative comment.

A three plus hour visit which felt drawn out and overall...
