Me and my wife went on Friday after seeing the 4.7 on Google reviews. We thought at first it was a doctors surgery as it’s quite dark and like someone’s front room with tables. Unfortunately we did not have the same 4.7 experience. 1st the drinks, I had a large Singer which was perfect and ice cold, my wife had a gin and tonic, it was flat and warm as they used tonic water out of a large bottle rather than individual one. As we arrived when it first opened this was probably and old bottle. 2nd Starters my wife had the deep fried squid no issues. I had the chicken satay which was cold and I had to send it back, they brought it back and it’s was ok. 3rd The mains. I went for the steak which is a 4 chilli dish, what a massive disappointment. This is a dish served cold it did not say this on the menu and at no time did the waiter tell me when I was ordering the meal. When I mentioned it they told me it was a dish served cold. My wife order the Pad Grapo which was a 3 chilli dish, but was not even 1 chilli at this point I thought there is no point in complaining. The final thing was they put a 10% service charge on, what service? I had to keep getting the staffs attention and at no time did they come and ask was the food ok? Very disappointed and will not be calling again. Maybe we were just...
Read moreWe really enjoyed our experience here, nice to find some good Thai food here in Skipton. The decor is amazing, kind of a maximalist jungle of color and foliage with lots of orchids and animals, very fun. The place is clearly a local favorite, I'd recommend you give it a try if you're looking for something Asian, fresh and flavorful.
As diners with a lot of experience with Thai cuisine, we were somewhat less than fully impressed with the food. A bit too sweet, not enough fish sauce, seemed a bit toned-down to our palate.
When the food came, we got loads of tasty vegetables: tried the full vegetable starter, standouts were the corn fritters and the deep-fried veggies. The Yum Pak salad was fresh and tasty. With that we had the Tom Kha Gai soup, very nice, with lots of aromatics, although a touch more fish sauce would have helped bring the flavor up.
I'd certainly recommend this restaurant, it's one of the best places we've eaten in Skipton, and the kitschy decor has to be experienced! Service was excellent, very attentive and pleasant to...
Read moreEdit 2024: Has there been a change of chef? Or ownership ?I went in April or May and the decor was updated (very fun! I love it) but my meal was really disappointing and bland. My friend really enjoyed hers though so I guess it could have been a one off?
Hidden gem. Haven't been for ages and was hoping it hadn't gone downhill. It did not disappoint. Not had a Thai this good anywhere else in UK but to be fair I do get the same every time (Thai green curry and coconut rice). Even my boyfriend loves it and he "doesn't like Thai food". The place is beautiful, quiet personal atmosphere, and the service is impeccable. Once one of the waitresses ran 200m down the street after me in the pouring rain and hurricane winds to deliver a hairclip I accidentally dropped from my bag on the way out... Not all heroes wear capes. Forever will I be guilt ridden for only leaving...
