The Broadway Leigh-On-Sea — Restaurant in England

I hadn't been here for a while, and now I remember why. Moody staff who seemed put out when asked simple questions about the food we were ordering. My girlfriend is vegan and just wanted vegetables for her Sunday roast, specifying that she didn't want gravy. Her food turned up with gravy so returned it and had to wait while the rest of us started without her. To be fair, the wait wasn't too long.

Our food order was taken by a child and we were served by the same child.. The pub seemed understaffed for a Sunday afternoon and we all thought it a little off getting a young lad to serve us because there was no one else to do it.

The food was cheap and average, presented on tiny plates with desert included, which consisted of two little bramley apple pies and custard.

The football was being shown on a foreign channel as many pubs seem to be doing due to the cost of Sky Sports. The Hobgoblin ale we were drinking didn't taste right.

The food was nice, but a little politeness...

Pub seems great and the locals were lovely but they made it impossible for a rock covers band to play there with the decibel limiter continually cutting the power to the equipment (which was being triggered by the drum kit and not even anything that was plugged in or mic'd up, and you obviously can't turn a acoustic kit down)

I realise their hands are probably tied by the local authorities, but then they should stick to booking acoustic gigs and not rock bands. I wouldn't recommend that any bands take up gigs their unless they're strictly acoustic. I think the only thing to blame here is poor planning on their part and expectations of the kinds of acts they can now book since implementing the limiter.

Luckily the locals seemed to be on our side and made up for the breaks in instrumentation by shouting the lyrics...

Took just under an hour to serve our food when the pub was pretty much empty. The standard of food was extremely poor, especially with the above average price for pub grub. The chips were undercooked and the burger was severely over cooked and burnt. Also tried to get the attention of workers but nowhere to be seen. Just...
