A Hidden Gem – Fantastic Food, Service, and Atmosphere!

After a terrible experience at another local restaurant, we were desperately trying to find somewhere to eat for our group of seven (three couples and a friend). Thankfully, we stumbled across The Esk Vaults, and what an absolute gem it turned out to be!

From the moment we walked in, the staff were friendly and welcoming, the drinks were excellent, and the food was spot on. The atmosphere was relaxed and homely, with great music playing in the background — exactly what we needed after the earlier chaos elsewhere.

After a disappointing experience at another local restaurant, we arrived here around 8.40pm feeling a little deflated — but from the moment we stepped inside, everything turned around.

We were greeted by a lovely member of staff who immediately made us feel welcome and even joked that we’d get better pizza for a lower price — and they were absolutely right. The pizzas were incredible (we tried two of the specials), the nachos were spot on, and the selection of beers was genuinely impressive.

After a disappointing experience at Bon Appétit Wine Bar and Bistro, our group of seven decided to visit The Esk Vaults — and it completely turned our evening around. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful, creating a great vibe all around.

We all ordered pizzas, which are served until 9:30, and they were delicious. There was no rush at all — just an easy, enjoyable experience. We sat upstairs, which was a lovely spot to relax and chat. The selection of craft beers was impressive, and we were really glad to have stumbled upon this gem of a pub.
