So we come to Whitby Monday here for the week been the The Buck Inn each night just me the misses and our Dog before we went back to our cottage on the next road.
We went tonight to be stopped by a member of Active Security Door Staff with a grey hat on. Stopped me from going in because he thought I had track suit bottoms when I showed the Grey Hatted door staff member I had walking trousers on yes black walking TROUSERS he said no your not coming in with them they are sports wear. Walking toursers are what most people would wear when they come to a place like Whitby. Become very rude and appeared aggressive in his body manner thought he was the man because he stopped me and my misses from going into the Buck Inn. Therefore resulting in my misses saying come on let’s go back the Dolphin. As his body manner and how he was speaking made her think that he was looking for a kick off to occur. Which unfortunately for him, I was never going to rise to, over walking trousers!! Not Tracksuit bottoms
Need to take a look at the security Buck Inn and Active Security maybe take a look at how your staff are speaking to people and how there body language appears when speaking to the public. This is why the security industry is constantly getting bad name.
So we went back over the bridge to The Dolphin where door staff and bar staff are so friendly and approachable.
Won’t be drinking in the Buck Inn again anytime soon. Especially of a weekend why Active Security are on the door, such a shame for a nice quiet pub to have these kind of people working on there new bar. Can’t imagine how many people have had the same problem but won’t speak up.
Hopefully the lovely young owners who appear to be very nice people sort the security out before they start to loose their profit and...
Read moreThe Buck Inn was alright. There were a few things that made our stay less than great. First, when trying to pick up our keys, we were pushed in front of by several punters at the bar. The young man behind the counter seemed completely baffled when we asked for the keys and wasn’t particularly welcoming. The main man in charge was nice. The room itself was fine, but the harbour views promised online were actually back alley pipes and windows covered in bird feces (the windows in the corridor to the rooms were the same). Bathroom was very tiny- the door couldn’t be opened fully, and the shower door was partially obstructed by the sink. The toilet roll was essentially sand paper. Also, the “double bed” was actually just two single beds pushed together, meaning there was a rift in the middle. The pillow was stained and there was a hole in one, causing feathers to fly out whenever it was laid on. There was also a hole in the duvet. Overall, it was a place to sleep at night and leave our bags whilst exploring the town, but for the price I would have expected just a...
Read morePub is more of a lads boozer than a place to visit with the family but what do you expect from a pub called The Buck. Bar staff are friendly and there are plenty of tv screens showing the footy. Due to this it can get very full and therefore difficult to get served at the bar but that's been a problem since public houses opened.
Witnessed the amazing AGUEROOOOOOOO goal in this pub with one other random City fan, it was a packed pub containing plenty of United fans and we celebrated together like the best of friends as City secured their first Premier League title. Meanwhile Fergie, Rooney and Co were in Sunderland receiving the late news that City had snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Astonished looks of disbelief ran across their faces as the loss of the title sunk in...............Joyous scenes,...
