Deiced to visit for a nice craft beer and the menu was reasonable, not too much local stuff but that is fine. The staff were were indifferent and clearly not interested in beer. I was disappointed when I requested a half pint but they said that they only served 2/3rds. I understand this with regards to high percentage, normally craft beer, where pints are ill advised, but not the otherway around. Cynically it feels like a cash grab, but maybe they just don't have the glasses. I was not a fan of the seating, it was uncomfortable especially where I was with a pillar wedged into my back with no wiggle room around the table. I didn't enjoy the vibe, it felt like a place where dates flounder, indecisive over what the place wanted to be. Coffee shop and craft beer don't mix and I found the pairing uncomfortable. However, I did enjoy my beer and maybe I am not the...

Rude unprofessional staff, awful cocktails, dirty establishment.

I walked in, asked politely if the amaretto sours was made from Disaronno, they replied no and suggested an alternative so as a change I asked for Espresso martini and where the toilets were. My sister ordered our drinks and the other went to sit down- I don’t know if staff knew that my sister had sat down next to the bar but she heard them mocking us regarding the type of drinks we ordered and that we had asked for where the toilets was- very immature. The espresso martini was awful and too sweet and the red wine was unpleasant too.

I don’t ever like giving poor reviews and want to give everyone the benefit of doubt but I think they were incredibly rude and need to be aware of their behaviour. Incredibly...

We used to live near this place a few years ago, and we visited Fossgate Social plenty of times for a coffee and a breakfast. It used to be jam packed all the time with buzzing atmosphere, great food and coffee. Today however it was empty which was surprising for Sunday midday. Coffee was ok, service as well, but they had very little sweet selection this time and the place wasn't the cleanest either. We sat on the outside and tables were covered in cigarette ash, and there was broken glass on the floor ( I guess) from the night before. Now I understand we might just entered in a very unlucky time and that's the reason for a little less positive experience. I hope it's still the same great coffee place as I...

Drinks here are unique and tasty. Cocktails are a little expensive (around Ā£8 a piece) but nothing much different from other places in York such as Evil Eye. They have a good range of interesting craft beers and they make a mean White Russian! Staff are super friendly and helpful. The atmosphere here is something else, just being there made us feel really cool, it's very 'hip' as someone from the 60s might say šŸ˜‚ Didn't get a chance to try the coffee as it was late in the afternoon when we arrived, but we'll be going back just for the coffee as it smells incredible!

Apparently there is a measure that is in between a half and a pint why is this a thing it's not real how do you order a beer Also had to ask if I was inside or outside as you couldn't tell as it wasn't raining Fossgate is now super trendy so don't forget to sport a big bushy beard and a solid lump of hair on your head so you can mingle with other bell end types and pretentious students Also look out the award winning architecture
