I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Genie Lounge in Albert Place, Peterborough, and I must say it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a vibrant atmosphere.

This has to be one of the top 10 worst Turkish places we have been to! And we've been to hundreds. How it is rated 4.6 stars is beyond me. I'm assuming that some of the previous diners who have eaten here don't have any proper authentic Turkish food to compare it to.

The chicken shish was not even the proper Turkish charcoal skewer shish, but instead small cubes of unseasoned bland chicken. The chips were disgusting, overcooked, and definitely a cheap brand. The pizzas also lacked major flavour.

Even the chilli sauce was a mixture of mayonnaise and the cheap chilli sauce you get from chicken shops and not your proper flavoursome Turkish chilli sauce.

They also do hookah shisha here, which isn’t properly segregated, so it is smokey inside, and it doesn't have a proper family restaurant atmosphere.

The food is very expensive, and not worth the price whatsoever. We paid a similar price at the Turkish Kitchen and got a much better service and amazing authentic tasting Turkish food (must try for...

I planned a group booking here on Saturday the 26th of October for my partners birthday celebrations. All I can say is it went better than I expected. The service was absolutely great, nice friendly staff who were willing to help us out with any requests we had for that day.

There was around 15 of us so we were very loud and abit messy but they still had smiles on their faces. The food was great, very tasty with so much flavour. Everyone enjoyed it!

After, we all went to smoke some shisha and chill out with some drinks in the other room. 🫧 💨 The atmosphere was very relaxing and the energy was flowing nicely. Very comfortable sofa and the room has been decorated nicely.

I want to say a big thankyou to the man who was in charge that day I'm not sure who he was but he was very lovely and made us feel welcomed. Much appreciated!

I definitely recommend this place. Its abit out of the town centre so it doesn't get overally busy quick.
