Dont become a student here ! Student - Maidstone, Kent I am currently a student at this college and can honestly say I haven’t learned anything i wouldnt be able to get a job with what i have learned the teaching is lazy and poorly delivered. I have been waiting days on days sitting at college doing nothing while my teachers are supposed to be marking my work the teacher marking it keeps disappearing for ages. i had completed it awhile ago and im still wasting my time coming into college doing nothing. I haven’t learnt anything this whole year from college i have wasted my money attending this course i have only learnt anything about motor vehicle is because my partner is a mechanic and has helped me and the same with my grandfather. All the questions in my exam where nothing to do with my lessons i only passed because i attempted the exams 3 times so i remembered the questions and had to google them at home for revision. My theory teacher would waffle for ages about random thing’s nothing to even do with cars or the course he would talk about birds and how his favourite alcohol was baileys. And the lack of discipline here and how they let the children do whatever they want and say what they want. Children sitting in cars pressing the horns for ages without being told not to do so while others are trying to learn is so distracting im outraged by this course and the cant be bothered attitude by the teachers i wouldn’t recommend to anyone coming here. the lack of cars for students to work on awell the students that didnt have a car to work on would prat around doing no good or sitting doing absolutely nothing We would have to take turns working on cars to many students not enough material and the students that had them would rock the car up and down and hide there friends in the boots and lock them in but the teachers are obviously blind to not see that. Its unfair as some people who wanted to learn about cars and get to have a go on one didn’t because of silly kids and no discipline. The toilets are so filthy aswell everyday they are blocked ans the canteen staff always start late and finish early how are you supposed to get food it’s unprofessional there teaching students to always arrive on time and get told of for being late but the staff here are late i have waited 30 minutes for my lesson before and its takes them 40 minutes to even do the register and start the class. Disgustingly bad place. Should be subject to a DFE enquiry regarding how poor some of their courses are - bad value for money - don't lead to apprenticeships or viable jobs - a waste of time and money. They suck people in with sharp sales patter, promising the world, as given their declining student numbers, and drive to try and get more money, they are desperate for anyone - and they don't care who. This, while disguising the failure of their services, especially apathetic teaching, lacklustre provision, haphazard testing/placements, and then abandoning students who do not pass and are cast aside, having been failed by a system - a college that should know better. The bad OFSTED report nails the deficits in the Engineering Dept - shockingly low teaching standards, dismal lack of working equipment and apathetic aspirations for students, and casting aside, and ignoring those who ask for better, and a cover up. They suppress, and mask the issues. They present a false impression to lure people in. They do not accommodate EHCPs and fail students unlawfully on these - they do not care whether students pass exams in any way or not, and lie blatantly about whether they can meet their needs or not, to make up their numbers. If your child has an EHCP in heaven's name do not send them here,, they will not care if they fail students with SPLD or not, delivering a poor service with dismal outcomes, that lead to poor prospects, and you will have to spend extra money to put right the damage. Simon Cook - the Principal should be ashamed, given the issues above. If the college break Education or Consumer law, they can be sued for damages, not meeting the Equalities Act or Dyslexia discrimination. Echo the experiences with Bibbnya's below, with the lack of support for Special Needs, and ignoring the Equalities Act 2010. If Chris Blackman who had same experience with his son wants to join up with us for group damages legal action against this College, please feel free to DM me on Facebook. From the amount of ppl complaining about the approach to SEND, would say it is a deliberate, systemic approach by the college, and especially the Management. The College have been horrendous, coercive in manner, to deflect and stop the complaint. They mark their own homework on complaints. Censorship and gaslighting from them. The college failed my son, would not put in place his EHCP, and abandoned him - terrible course, lack of support and teaching, ignored his EHCP and would not implement it. They covered up our complaint and bullied us under the radar, into dropping it. And that was from the college complaints manager and also principal Mr Cook. And then got Google to delete our previous review. Given some of the previous comments about lack of help and support for Special Needs on the reviews, see we are not alone. Having to consider taking legal damages retrospective action against the College and the LA as my son has been left without a future, viable qualifications and is now jobless. The College abandon people and won't help them career wise. Their adherence to help people is a sham. They are a business and appear mainly in it, for themselves. And their request to contact them is just surface. They just want to maintain their reputation over rights of others.
