Not my first visit to the Posh Partridge, but my first 'post lockdown' visit. Being the time of year when the coastal cafes are bursting with people and all selling the same Bookers wholesaler inspired cheap Bacon and Sausage, it is a delight to visit somewhere away from from the madness and head inland a little. Booking is highly advised - as with the new restrictions tables are now well spaced and so fewer spaces are available. You are greeted at the entrance and are asked to utilise the hand sanitiser available as you walk in. This is also on your allotted table. The service as always is great, the father (chef) and daughter (front of house/hostess) team working well together and it is all very efficient yet nothing is pressured. The breakfast is a revelation, the bacon is cured by themselves - yes - real bacon without the water! the sausages are top quality and arrive as sizzling little parcels of meaty goodness, not the stodgy breadbound fayre of your beachside cafe. The full breakfast is more than able to fill you up, and we also bought some cakes to take home with us for later - these too are all made on the premises. The Posh Partridge is highly recommended by me. you dont have to be sitting near a beach to get a seaside treat - head for The Posh Partridge first - then go and have your day out with a full stomach, and you wont need to buy your overpriced beach cafe lunch later! But as I said - give them call first and book...
Read moreWe have found The Posh Partridge to be a homely and addictive place to visit. They have made us feel incredibly welcome and the food has been to a very high quality. The servings are on the generous side and the standard is impeccable. I love the music and the overall atmosphere of the place. I have taken family there and they left jealous that they didn't live in Dorchester. My whippet also loves to go there as they are dog friendly. There is a specials option of rotating seasonal offerings and the ingredients seem to be local, one customer being told where their crab was caught. I wish everywhere was to this standard, you can tell alot of love goes into...
Read moreI have often walked by and thought this cafe was full but discovered today there are 2 extra rooms upstairs! Despite this we were still lucky to get a table as many were reserved and this was a Friday lunchtime! We were about to see why.. The menu was great and very reasonably priced. After much deliberation we went for a halloumi salad and a goats cheese salad. Portions were very generous, beautifully presented and came with a side of new roasted potatoes. Absolutely delicious! My new favourite cafe in Dorch that leaves much of the...
