I’ve been to this establishment twice now. I am new to the area and decided to search for a local Thai near me, I stumbled across The King Thai and I am glad with the decision I made. The service was very good, and the restaurant was immaculately clean. There is a good choice of local drinks on the menu as well as good food options - not a huge amount on the menu however to my mind this is a good sign that everything is cooked fresh I must also add they do not cook with any MSG or preservatives. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wether you are looking for a quick lunch or an evening meal. Will definitely be a regular customer here now.

Lovely atmosphere and beautifully clean restaurant! The service was impeccable - but the food! Freshly cooked and bursting with taste and subtle flavours. Served very hot - just how I like it; and good sized portions. Huge prawns, fresh pork and chicken - no preformed meat. The handmade coconut ice cream is a real treat and not too sweet. It really is a wonderful experience, you are not rushed eating the food and we cant wait to go back!

Set lunchtime menu is good value for money. Served quickly but not rushed. Satay chicken to start was well cooked, great flavour satay sauce and well cooked chicken with a decorative radish for good measure. The Pad Thai was sufficient for lunch, was the ideal amount for lunchtime. Mango sorbet was pleasant except the cream on top was long life; fresh cream (or no cream at all) would have been my preference. Absolutely worth a visit.

As visitors to the area, we googled 'Thai restaurant Dorchester' and this came up at the top. Reviews were very good so we went there. What a fantastic find! This is a gorgeous restaurant, with lovely decor in greens and creams. The owner, who served us, was delightful and his wife is the head chef. The food was to die for - so utterly delicious that silence fell over our table while we ate. We are all vegetarian and there was a fabulous choice on the menu. The presentation of the food was also outstanding right down to the quirky but elegant teapot our Jasmine tea was served from and the little Thai box that our bill and chocolates were presented in. This is a truly excellent restaurant and dining experience and we can't recommend it highly enough. We may even go back for another meal later in our holiday. If we were local we'd be frequenting this all the time. Lucky Dorchester residents having food of this quality on...

Me and my husband go here every year, since our very first date nearly 7 years ago..occasionally twice a year if we are child free. And we cannot fault the service and food every year without fail we visit the King and Thai (how we havent known the owner by name yet has amazed me) they always great us with a smile, and always making sure we're confortable and satisfied. Everything is hand made and bought locally. Even those beautiful flowers make from vegetables you will see on your dishes are hand carved by the staff-amaing, right!? (we had a meal whilst he made them). Is was mesmerising. And to think what they offer and what amazing dishes they never fault to make, are brilliantly priced! I would say under priced but i wouldnt want to not afford to go here anymore..so i'll say affordable.

A restaurant you NEED...
