I have had a bad track record with this venue , I must add- before continuing, for no fault of their own! I first attended this WM after a teen breakup, following that after finding out my firstborn would have a severe birth defect and then again on valentine's day, quickly followed by said valentines proceeding to cheat the very same day. Comical on some levels, I found myself outside this very same venue on the very first day of my honeymoon as we stopped on our way to the coast. My husband declared we would go and make positive memories, following my explaining my bad luck and I adore WM so I was 100% for this plan. The sun was shining, we had good food made with an expertise I have found to be consistent with all WM venues and the staff were friendly and chatty. I ordered a vegan dish due to food intolerances and it was exceptional. So much so I found myself chatting with a Staff member about how it was cooked. Our conversation led on to me explaining that I am saddened to know my wagamama trips will be less common with a move to Canada on the horizon and I would need to learn how to cook some of the meals I love! A short while later, said member of staff came out with a WM cook book, a gift for the future that brought tears to my eyes. There are moments in time where a small gesture can make someone's year, for me, this was one of those moments. I have attended this venue while tearful, depressed, lost and scared... And each time I found comfort in good food, kind staff and a wonderful atmosphere. Likely my final stop at this venue for a long while, and I found a piece of happiness I can carry forward with me, memories to treasure and an act of kindness that continues to bring me joy. Every visit here has been perfect in its own way, and I would encourage those who have not eaten here to pop by. Rain or shine, good days or bad... There's joy in a good meal served by good people.

Brian and his team were amazing. Very attentive and accommodating during a very busy lunch. We started by sharing the pork belly hirata bun. We then enjoyed the Pad Thai with chicken and prawns and Duck Donburi, both of which were delicious. Very fresh and delivered in good time. It was delightful to see Chef Joey engaging with the clientele - such a refreshing change to see this - it doesn't happen in many restaurants. We drank the High Five and Tropical juices, and I managed to squeeze in the Katsu Banana for pudding - wow! The main courses were delicious but the pudding was outstanding! It is a must have! If you arrive at it is busy, hang on and you wont be disappointed. The queues go down quickly and the food is well worth the wait!

I've rarely made the effort to come to Wagamamas (only twice since they opened in Dorchester) and not sure why as I actually really enjoy it. The food is as tasty as the chopsticks are tedious (I'll work it out one day). The staff are clearly going for the casual relaxed approach which I'm normally a fan of but 2 of the lads seemed to rock the 'I just want my shift to end' attitude which spoilt it a little. Other than that though, loved it and will make more of an effort to come back more often.

Im slightly sad writing this review, and want to start off by saying that usually the service in the Dorchester Wagamama is faultless and I'd always recommend it. However, today was a different case. Myself and two family members went into the restaurant and it was probably around 2pm, so after the initial lunch rush. I don't know whether staff were changing shifts or what, but we were seated by one server who then vanished and then sat there for nearly 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. When we ordered our drinks and main meals they arrived fairly quickly and were delicious. Again, once we finished we were left sat there for a long time and eventually had to wave down yet another server to order dessert. The dessert then got forgotten and we ended up waiting nearly half an hour for it to arrive and had to chase it up more than once. Finally, when it came to paying the bill, we tried for a long time to log onto the pay by phone option, only to find that we hadn't been given a table number and once again had to flag someone down to find out what it was which took more time again. Luckily I'm a pretty calm person, even at 37 weeks pregnant 😂 but the people I was with got quite stressed by the whole thing. I will say that the food was delicious like usual, and usually service is great, but today was...

I want to express my deepest gratitude to the caring, kind & helpful girls at Wagamama's in Dorchester. I took shelter outside the entrance just to stay warm as the overhead light was generating some heat. It was 10pm thus too late to order food. My reason for staying in that area was hanging around the train station was particularly cold. I had to wait 1hr & 20 long mins for the next train, appalling indeed as it's a week night.

Without asking, one of the girls kindly explained that she would turn on the outside heater allowing me to sit comfortably for as long as I needed. When the heater did go off & despite my efforts to switch it back on, another girl demonstrated how much pressure was needed to turn it on. After a very busy day working in the hospital, my energy wasn't sufficient. Both girls came out & switched the heater on. I felt bad as they were busy tidying the restaurant interior ect.

May I say, a heartfelt thank you for reaching out to me. You were not obliged to help though you offered heartfelt service. I recommend you highly.

Wishing you both much happiness & success in all...
