We visited here Saturday night for dinner, we phoned ahead and booked a table with plety of time however on arrival there was another party who had also booked who were waiting also, we had to stand awkwardly in the doorway while a table became available, I'm not sure what the point in booking is if they're not able to ensure a table is free at the agreed time. Once there was space we were seated in a very traffic heavy area which meant we were a little on edge throughout the whole meal, having people constantly walking around you whilst eating isn't ideal. The food however was good, the service was really great, the (I think the head) waitress was really knowledgable about the food and informative, her service made things a lot better, the price was a little high, dinner for two and two drinks came to £70, we left feeling satisfied and would most likely return but probably a week day evening or lunchtime to avoid the busy time. Our second visit was during lunchtime on a Friday, it was a mostly empty restaurant and the guy who greeted us and took our drinks order was very friendly and helpful, food was delivered very quickly and was very hot and fresh. I guess there was a shift change during this time as a female staff member took over, we were the only customers at this point and yet she was very abrupt and quite frankly unpleasant. We ordered deserts with her and asked for the bill, she had very little in way of customer service and tried to over charge us for two items. She also loudly berated the chef in front of us which was uncomfortable. The whole experience wasn't bad but we left with a bad taste in our mouths after dealing with her, I can tell she's put on the quiet day shift for a reason.

UPDATE. UPDATE. So we as a family just decided we wanted to eat out for a change and decided to visit our favourite place again. Once again Zizzi in Dorchester earn't top mark from us all. The food was spot on and there was again a really nice relaxed environment. A few ciders to wash that amazing Gluten Free pasta down was just what I needed. Yet again the staff very attentive to my GF allergy and actually puts my mind at ease. We enjoyed it that much we've just booked in again for Thursday for my partners Birthday evening meal. Thanks again to ALL the TEAM. See you soon. WOW WOW WOW. My partner and I took our 6yo daughter out for a New Years Eve meal here and so glad we did. The attention to detail in absolutely everything was second to none and this includes the attention made to me being Coeliac. The atmosphere, food, drinks and staff were all faultless and we have found our new local place to eat out. We had 3 courses and each of my plates came out with a little GF sticker which I thought just shows these guys understand the rules and seriousness of allergies. We could not fault a single thing during our time in here of around 2 hours. Now I'm hoping I've got the right person but the name on our receipt is Meg. I would personally like to thank Meg for her time, help and knowledge with regards to the GF items I could have. Meg made our evening that little more enjoyable and less stressful when it comes to allergies. Meg, I hope you had a drink on me and we'll be seeing you again very soon. I can safely and honestly recommend Zizzi's Dorchester to anyone in the area looking to have an enjoyable meal out. Happy New Year to all.

We visited for dinner on the weekend. The atmosphere is great, it was quiet and peaceful, with a nicely designed interior that feels both modern and cozy. The comfy seating is a huge plus, making it a place you can easily relax in for a long meal. The pricing is very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, and the location is fantastic, made even better by the convenience of a big car park nearby. Unfortunately, strawberry mocktail was a disappointment. It had a surprisingly thick and odd consistency, and the flavour reminded us of medicine. It did become more palatable as the ice melted and diluted it, but it wasn't the refreshing drink we had hoped for. More notably, one of our main courses, the pasta, had a slight aftertaste of rubber bands. It was quite peculiar and a bit off-putting. The pasta itself was cooked well, but that strange aftertaste was consistently present. Overall, this is a lovely restaurant with a solid foundation. The fantastic ambiance, comfortable setting, and generally great food make it a place we would consider returning to. We're hoping the issues with the mocktail and the pasta were just a one-off, as the potential for a 5-star experience is definitely here.

After 2 recent visits that I have left very disappointed , I will not be returning. It's a shame as the food isnt half bad. But unfortunatly the incredibly bad service cannot be ignored. On my first visit, we didn't get any service, other than abruptly being told to use the app to order ect. On that visit when we asked for the bill, the waitress went off to "get it" and we had to remind her twice again. Eventually she decided to have a sit down and a meal with her colleague right in front of us while we sat there like lemons. Her and her colleague were laughing and joking on their phones ect whilst we had clearly been waiting almost an hour for our bill.I was so furious at the lack of disrespect from all staff present at the time, who clearly didn't care. Anyway, booked another table for a get together with a couple of friends and this time we did actually receive table service. The girl was pleasant when taking the orders however had to be reminded about a request we made when we first arrived ( about 3 times ). Anyway, I wouldn't say it was the best meal I have ever had but was okay. Anyway, we went to leave and as always we said our thanks and goodbye ( however all 6 staff at the bar just point blank gave us dirty looks and ignored us. Safe to say, I won't be returning anytime soon ! There is no excuse for poor...
