We went there with friends and both our toddlers for coffee and cake. Spent £30 between us for four coffees and 3 cakes.
Both our boys had packed lunches and the waitress quite rudely placed a card on the table (without talking to us) that stated food not bought on the premises cannot be eaten there.
Whilst we understand that they wish to promote their own menus and food, we hadn’t just turned up and not bought anything, and yet we were still made to feel not welcome. Even though they very clearly cater the cafe for families.
We promptly packed up and left, sadly we can’t afford to constantly feed our kids off the menu in the restaurant - and £30 on coffees and cakes for the adults felt like we were justified to sit at the table we were obviously...

Food & service has always been really good until today, 1pm terrace was empty but was told you had to have a reservation as Pub in the Park was on, we went & ate at Ginger Wings & then walked past terrace again an hour later, only 3 tables occupied, Also passed by 4pm, lots of available tables. Read moreI used to like coming here with my Son, but the last few times I’ve noticed the older dark haired woman (I’m presuming owner/manager) has been nothing but negative towards paying customers. On today’s visit, literally every interaction with any customer was negative. It is setup as a child friendly cafe, with a children’s play area, but she told my 18 month old Son to stop tapping a wooden spatula on the play washing up bowl, told us to think about the noise for other people. We were too shocked to answer straight away and she said “I’ll take it off him then” and we left with him crying. Obviously we will not be returning.
