Well this may contradict some reviews but it was our experience. My wife, daughter and I went in Sunday night after watching Queen (very good) and booking a table for 8:30. So, we turned and was seated. The place is nice and cozy inside. After 10 minutes I asked for a menu to which a waiter muttered yes or something. We waited another 5 minutes and askdd again. Now there was 1 table of 4 and a table of 8 all eating. So asked again and got menus. The waiter took drinks orders about a further 5 mins later. The starters arrived and were nice in all fairness. However the pickles were insipid. One just chopped onion with some flecks of parsley, the mango chutney was jam - smooth and sugary and the garlic was off white and more like yoghurt. We all said not nice. One whole hour later and after asking 4 times, restaurant near empty now with just us 2 others and the 1 table of 4. Well the mains arrived and then a few minutes later the sides. Again being fair, the mains were very nice. Wife and daughters tasted exactly the same but were different from the menu. The vegetable curry was lacking taste and watery. We all didn't like it. At nearly 10pm we abandoned the last course paid (fifty quid) and left. Mains & starter good, rest bad and service very poor. We have had better food for same money that left enough for the next day. Can't say we will visit here again. Mediocre food, bad service.

Came here on Saturday September 25th as it opened. We were served very promptly by a very friendly waiter. The food was lovely, very well cooked. We were always kept up to date about the state of our order which was a nice touch. Very reasonable prices as well. Only problem was the ladies toilets. When I went in the toilet doors have a massive gap around them so you can easily see out into the bathroom. I know only ladies would go in there but it is a little uncomfortable to find there’s a large enough gap for people to see into, hence four stars and not five.

Very dubious about this place but my god it was amazing. I have never seen onion bhaji's so big! Went for the 5 course deal and it didn't disappoint. £11.95 each, Start off with popadoms and dip, good choice of starters, main meal with chips/rice/naan, side of veg curry, and a coffee or ice-cream to finish. Will be returning asap! They have an amazing selection of Currys of various hotness. Everything was a flavor sensation!!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Madras Restaurant in Hull, and it was an experience that truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with warm, friendly smiles and a level of customer service that is second to none. The staff at Madras go out of their way to make you feel welcome and ensure that every aspect of your dining experience is perfect.

The ambiance of the restaurant is inviting, with a charming blend of traditional and modern decor that creates a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. The attention to detail is evident in everything from the beautifully set tables to the carefully curated menu.

Speaking of the menu, the food at Madras is nothing short of amazing. Each dish is a culinary masterpiece, bursting with authentic flavors and cooked to perfection. Whether you're a fan of spicy curries or prefer milder, more aromatic dishes, there's something for everyone. I highly recommend the Lamb Rogan Josh, which was tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The Chicken Tikka Masala was equally impressive, with a rich, creamy sauce that perfectly complemented the succulent chicken.

The portion sizes are generous, and the presentation of the food is impeccable. It's clear that the chefs at Madras take great pride in their work, using only the freshest ingredients and traditional cooking techniques to create dishes that are both visually stunning and incredibly tasty.

In addition to the fantastic food, the service throughout the meal was exemplary. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, always ready to refill drinks or offer recommendations from the menu. Their knowledge of the dishes and willingness to accommodate special requests was greatly appreciated.

Overall, Madras Restaurant in Hull offers an exceptional dining experience that combines superb customer service with outstanding food. Whether you're a local or just visiting the area, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates high-quality Indian cuisine. I can't wait to return and explore more of their...

Having seen the excellent reviews we thought we would give the Madras a try rather than our local restaurant in Beverley. Nice welcome from the staff and brought our drinks without too long of been seated. Ordered Lamb Tikka starters and their Lamb Tikka Massalla and Duck Jalfazi for main meals. The Lamb Tikka starters arrived, 4 pieces of lamb and salad. Unfortunately it wasn't Lamb tikka there were no skewer holes were the Lamb would of been marinated then cooked in a clay oven. The lamb was of a brown/pink colour when cut rather than the grey light colour and the meat was very much like beef brisket in texture. Due to this we arranged to change the main order from Lamb Tikka Massalla to chicken Tikka Massalla following our chat with the manager after he had asked how our starters were. The mains came and I have to say their Jalfrazi sauce has to be one of the best I have ever had and the chicken tikka with its holes from the skewer was good too. However only 5 possibly 6 slim cut pieces of duck was disappointing in the Jalfazi. Could certainly be improved it they actually start serving lamb tikka cooked in a...
