The New Inn — Restaurant in England

Usually a relatively okay pub, bit pricey with a small selection of drinks. The karaoke is a bit loud but good for a laugh. However on the 03/06/22 I was out with 15+ for a birthday which was ruined by the disrespectful demeanour of the bar staff including the landlady. I don't usually post on negative reviews however I am disgusted at the way we were spoken to. There is no signage to explain there is a need to put £5 deposit on ques for pool. We began playing the next turn paying £1 for the balls which we were not refund. Moments later we were accosted by a small bald chap who demand £5 with little explanation. He stood between us and the table aggressively refusing to move. I don't carry cash after COVID as it's safer to use card. When I offered to pay by card the man refused. I tried to use my property such as my phone to use as a token of goodwill and he continued to refuse. After some time I put all the balls back, my dad threw my que onto the table walking away from the situation as the balled chap was trying to use aggressive body language to insight violence. Moments later a bouncer told me I needed to leave, I was obviously confused and upset. we had a conversation where I explained what happend and he let me finish my drink. This whole thing was humiliating and never needed escalate to the level it did. I hope the fella behind the bar is happy with himself, losing 15+ customers in 10 minutes. To make matters worse when my partner spoke to the landladys about what had just happens they laughed in her face saying "how do you survive without carrying cash" and "no you can't have the pound back it's only a quid". I most certainly won't be returning to this place as it seems to be stuck in the dark ages still using cash and only serving such a small...

This pub I have been told is having a refurb in July so will be nice to see how it looks after! I visited this pub with my friend who in the community needs to use a wheelchair but is fine indoors. Yes it does need updating which is what's happe ing soon it was a great pub and atmosphere they where brilliant with my friend and me nice lint couldn't fault it the girl on bar was cleaning the place at quiet times she was so helpful please don't judge this place on interior it's actually a good pub. We are only here for five days but will make a trip back to here...

The New Inn as soon as you walk through the doors there is a feeling of being overwhelmed with the interior, it's cosy, it's friendly and welcoming. The food and drinks are reasonably priced and the key point is they are good. Staff are friendly and helpful. The New Inn is at most times a busy venue and getting served at the bar can seem to be a problem due to the seating at the bar but saying that the staff are quick at serving.
