🐾✨ The Park View is one of Brighton’s most loved dog friendly pubs and it sits right beside Preston Park, making it the perfect pit stop after a stroll. Step inside and you will find a relaxed and welcoming space with plenty of room for pups to stretch out while you enjoy a drink or a bite to eat. Head outside and the multi level garden is a real showstopper with comfy seating and heaters that keep the atmosphere buzzing well into the evening. The menu is full of hearty pub classics, beautifully presented Sunday roasts and lighter plates too, so there is something for everyone. The friendly team always make a fuss of visiting pups and there are water bowls and dog treats ready and waiting. This pub is especially close to our hearts as it was the place we chose to celebrate our wedding meal with friends, and of course Lily was right there with us, soaking up the love and the leftovers. šŸ’™šŸ¶ Photos courtesy of The Park View #WoofAndExplore #DogFriendlyBrighton #PawsOnTour #DogsofBrighton #DogFriendlyPubs

My husband and I held our wedding reception at the Park View in January. We booked the downstairs room and bar, which was the perfect size for all our guests. We were really pleased to find a venue with disabled access, which 3 of our guests required. We highly commend the park view staff who helped and served us on the day: Reese, Ellis, Jade, Joe, Evie, Lau and a special mention to Huw who did a fantastic job of decorating and presenting our wedding cake made of cheese! It looked absolutely wonderful and made a perfect centrepiece. The buffet food was delicious and just the right amount for our guests. The park view staff were attentive and provided bespoke menu options for our guests with special dietary requirements. Above all, the staff were friendly, efficient and very welcoming. They helped to make our special day brilliant. Thank you! All in all the park view was the perfect venue for us and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming, lovely space to hold their party/event/celebration.

Really wish there was a 3.5 or even a 3.75 option because after trying The Park View for lunch today it wasn't bad and I would go back but it was amazing. I had the "crispy" duck salad, which wasn't crispy enough and it had more watermelon that actual greens and the actual salad required a bit of cutting. My husband had the burger with sweet potato fries and they seemed good. I tried the fries and they could have used some salt and been a bit crispier. The atmosphere is fantastic and location is great so I would love to come back and try other things on the menu. Overall a nice pub lunch for those on the outskirts of Brighton.

Went there for a friend's birthday and I found the whole experience probably the worst in 15 years living and drinking in Brighton. Due to the restrictions in place back in early June two tables were booked as there were more than 6 of us coming for a few drinks outdoors. When we got there though the staff member that greeted us had put us on two tables parallel to each other with an enormous closed parasol between the tables splitting us apart further and creating even more of a visual blockage between us. When we pointed out this arrangement wasn't great for a larger party and whether we could move to two vacant tables that were alongside each other the staff member said they were also booked and she couldn't swap them around. We were immediately disappointed that she didn't seem at all willing to help and even more so when the people who had those tables booked weren't even part of the same group and so could have easily been sat at the two separate tables of 6 that we were now on. We asked whether the parasol could be raised or moved but the staff said that no it was broken so we had to split into separate tables The next disappointment was the drink booking system. For some reason you couldn't order a vodka and soda. They had the option for vodka and various mixers on the system but vodka and soda wasn't one. This just meant a repeated exercise for each round of trying to get the drink required by ordering a vodka and then when the staff came sending them back for a splash of soda which must have been a pain for the staff. The final part that caused us to leave was when we swapped tables to speak to different people. I sat briefly on a piece of the wall so I could face someone and even though we had not increased the numbers at the table to more than 6 a staff member then came to demand I sit at the table. I was at the table not near any other table or any other party I was just sat on a ledge for a moment rather than at the specific table seat but he very aggressively said I was infringing on some rule and had to sit on the bench seat itself. There was clearly absolutely no Covid rule being infringed at all but his manner and the attitude of creating some new rule that he had to enforce was the final straw for the group, we felt we were not wanted there and so just finished up and left at that point. In 15 years of drinking in various relaxed and generally very friendly local pubs I've never experienced a staff that were that unwelcoming, unhelpful and generally just seemed to be taking out some frustrations on their customers. I wouldn't be rushing...

Nice pub in a nice area however other aspects are not so great. Service is encouraged by this horrible clunky app as supposed to any table service making the place on par with weatherspoons. Went there for Sunday roast and it really wasn’t very good even for the price point of Ā£14 +Ā£4 cauliflower cheese. Ordered half a chicken and in fairness the chicken wasn’t bad, although skin wasn’t crispy at all nor seasoned. The vegetables on the plate were a huge let down, tinned peas with half a carrot and I think it was half a parsnip. The meal didn’t come out with gravy boats, instead the entire meal was covered in a not particularly nice beef gravy, my pet hate is gravy on the food to the table, it’s like adding milk to someone’s coffee it’s a big no no. Cauliflower cheese was unpleasantly undercooked, with 2 of us wasting Ā£8 on this. Drink was nice but lager instead of cider ordered from the clunky app. Maybe my standards are too high, but I expect crispy potatoes, at least min of 6 veg, ideally 10/11 including peppers and honey glazed carrots, stuffing I think must be a packet one. For Ā£18 total it was a rubbish meal with the chicken being the only thing that passed as ā€œokā€, nothing on that plate was great and all of it just warm bordering cold. Now the positives assuming the chefs having a bad day, the pub was stylish, nicely placed, dog friendly. Would I return? Sadly it’s a no by choice . I just can’t justify Ā£53 for a bad meal for two, with drinks. It wasn’t good value for money, or good food for bad value, the place had little atmosphere except for the dogs there, it was a completely...

Hate to give a bad review, but had a Christmas meal there as a group booking and was a really bad experience. Firstly we pre booked for a group of 10+, on arrival our tables were 3 separate ones, which wasn’t ideal, so we had to make shift and put them together. Then for a 3 course meal, each course took an hour to be served, even our server apologised when serving the mains, saying he was sorry the food was taking so long. And even when each course was served several people had to wait for their starters, mains and desserts. And sad to say as well but the food was poor, all the vegetables were undercooked, so was someone’s Turkey, the food was cold and some people’s mains were missing items, and when we asked about this, our server tried to say those missing items weren’t for that main, but the menu stated otherwise. We were lucky enough to get a partial refund, but for the state of the food and the night overall, I think we should have been offered a bigger discount. Also to include a Ā£50 service fee and then someone from our party overheard our server bad mouthing us to another member of staff. So would say this pub is overpriced, terrible food and the professionalism of staff could...
