Hmmm... A distinctly average first impression of this cafe. Walked in at 12pm. No sausage rolls, no pasties, no pies. Ordered 3 sandwiches which took 30 minutes to arrive at our table! The sandwiches were 'OK' nothing special. Our table was only cleared of the previous occupants crockery and leftovers AFTER we received our food. This was happening at every table whilst staff sat having their lunch in front of everyone! Not a good look! In response to another review I noticed that the management blamed the temporary staff (how do you feel about that temporary staff?!). Maybe the management should look in the mirror before blaming others! We were going to try one of the tasty looking cakes but just wanted to get out. Need...

Visiting relations as we often do, we find ourselves in the wonderful Quay Cafe, we always dine here, not too far to walk, great food. Saturday we had a late lunch, party of ten, well how things had changed, food still great, there seems to be a new manageress in town, rude, obnoxious, argumentative, all other staff are great. Benefit of doubt given, must be having a bad day, so reserved the large table for Sunday brunch. Again great food, but this manageress started again, accusations whether we ordered a large coffee, absolutely pathetic. Over the weekend we had spent nearly £300 in the Quay Cafe. But no more…. I must stress it is the one individual who is ruining this great cafe, all other...

I am writing this review from the Deli on the Quay which is right next door to The Quay Cafe. The reason we are not eating there is because I had the most unfortunate experience with a waitress. She was offended because I complained at The Quay Cafe. It was about the uncleared tables and food lying around that was attracting the sea gulls who were off putting.. . This waitress was extremely flippant and rude in her continued dealings to me at the order counter. So much so that we did not place our order there but moved to our favourite place "Deli on the Quay" ; who always keep their tables cleared and the birds under control. They have friendly, wonderfully...

This cafe is literally a life saver for my elderly Dad; it’s a place he comes to with his little dog and chats to everyone in a similar position to him a few times a month. He looks forward to it each week and tells me each time I speak with him of how kind and friendly the staff are especially since he is quite frail and takes a while to move around. I have come along with him a couple of times and love the atmosphere they encourage. I have also been a few times in peak summer when of course it’s a lot busier but they still manage to cope with this and keep standards high.

On a sunny morning, we decided to sit outside in front of the marina for breakfast. The view was beautiful, and the sun was shining, but unfortunately, the breakfast did not meet expectations. The bacon was overcooked to the point of being inedible, and the Eggs Florentine had an excessive amount of sauce. While the location is excellent, the chef needs to make some improvements to the food quality.

Excellent Cafe - we ended up at the quay after following public toilet signs from the town centre only to find (after a long walk) that they were closed down! The cafe has a toilet for customers. The Cafe itself has a fantastic menu and most importantly a lot of Gluten Free GF options . Dog friendly - you can buy a sausage for £1 for the dog! Great seating an views, and the food was delicious.
