We saw this pub going dramatically downhill last summer as we visit every week whilst Poole Quay bike night goes on. The place was in dire need of a makeover and new facilities installed. Toilets were appalling in the ladies with loo seats off completely, locks broken and no working hand drier - nor was there hand towels provided as a temporary alternative. Towards the end of the season, it was refreshing to see a new manager take over and there were many improvements in just 2 weeks - including better portions and a brand new hand drier finally appeared in the ladies! We returned yesterday for the first time since, as bike night has once again resumed. Was horrified to see a lot of missing tables out the front, and chairs were sat round in large group - clearly left from the night before or even the weekend - not to mention the abundance of empty glasses yet to have been cleared away everywhere. When I went inside to use the toilets…there were tables left uncleared all over the place. Great first impression! There was also food waiting to be delivered at the end of the bar with no staff in sight. Then to get to the loos and find all 3 cubicles were awful and I couldn’t use them - all 3 had broken seats and only one cubicle had a working lock! Walls were scratched to pieces and looked very unsightly. I went back to the downstairs disabled loo and that wasn’t a great deal better. Urine on the floor where somebody had clearly missed…when I walked back through - the orders were still waiting at the end of the bar and getting cold. Overall, I’m extremely disappointed. This was our go to pub for summer as we love the outdoor seating out the front. When the Antelope - another Green King - is only a few hundreds yards away, how can they get it so right when you are failing miserably…? Green King seriously need to spend some money on this place and it’s been long overdue! Sort it out...

Giving this a 2 star but purely based on the lady serving as she was lovely. Waited a long time for food ordered a tuna melt toastie with a 3 cheese medley (basically a tuna and cheese toastie sounds nice right?) and it come out as a tuna sandwich which hilariously isn't on there menu at all it also had no cheese in it when I mentioned it they then toasted it and put some cheese in it but only one cheese not the medley as described. Wife's chicken wings were also pink in the middle this also got mentioned but we're told they arrived to them pre-cooked and then they cook them again which is nasty in its self but for then to still be pink after 2 lots of cooking baffles the mind.

Tables are so sticky the cutlery tray was stuck to it and had to be pulled off with force.

But by far the most discusting part of the pub was the toilets they looked like they havent seen a cleaner for years also in need for some serious repairs. If I had seen the toilets before I ordered food I would have just walked out any place that can allow customers to see that kind of stuff obviously wouldn't take much care in the kitchen either so would hate to see how dirty that is.

If you are sat outside having a drink I would probably say yes it's fine but anything else then just no there's better around.

Shame really this pubs in a great location and could make a killing.

This is owned by greene king who own a chain of pubs and went to one of there's in Weymouth 2 days prior and the difference in quality is vast. Sat right by the kitchen and the 2 chefs took pride in what they were sending out every plate looked fantastic as did ours also tasted great. But the jolly sailor needs to...

Left in the end service terrible. Ordered starter and mains before pub got busy. A table of 8 had come in and I'd moved table's in order for them to be accommodated for. We ordered before them and the next big table that walked in also. Eventually after a 40 min wait we received are starter of nachos with a comment of the ticket had only just gone in. After the starter we waited and waited my husband went to the bar 3 times to ask what the delay was he got told we had a party of 8 in yes well we ordered we'll before them and they had now brought all the people food out that had arrived and ordered after us. Eventually told it would be 10 minutes 10 minutes came and went still no apology no reason no food. After an hour and 45 minutes we had had enough and asked for a refund told food was now coming out. Didn't want it by then. There had obviously been a mistake with our ticker but instead of sorting it or letting us know what was going on we were left in limbo. A shame because the food that was coming out looked nice. Wouldn't bother again after...

Now this is what you call a proper pub. The manager was such a lovely guy who welcomed us in and was incredibly friendly the whole time - we forgot to get his name but he was a northern lad. The atmosphere was so nice inside the pub, so much so that the dog next to us got a big bowl of water and dog treats immediately on arrival, and all the really nice pub staff kept coming over to say hello to it (it was an incredibly lovely little dog). The food was proper pub food and the prices were decent. This is what a pub should be and is actually what everyone wants... Why other pubs have gone gastro and alienated large swathes of the public is totally baffling to me. This pub is located right on the sea front in Poole and 30 seconds walk from the old town in Poole and the same kind of distance to a car park if you need to park your car...

A jolly pub with good vibes - family friendly and right on the sea front. We stopped here for a quick drink after our fish and chips. We perched outside in the front and it was a good atmosphere with some music. Didn’t try the food as we’d just eaten but I’d say the vibes both inside and out were of a jolly nature. In terms of service - it must’ve been a stroke of misfortune that I encountered a trainee bar maid. When asking for a pint of Beaver Town - she gave me a pint of Green Kings IPA… I know this is a Green King pub chain but come on… from what I could see though the staff were on top of all orders so I’ve decided to give 4 stars overall.

We took a short day trip to Bournemouth Beach and then to Poole Quay for a walk along the quayside and a meal. Among several pubs, Jully Sailor looks much cleaner and better. Another important point is that it was dog 🐕 friendly and we could enter with the dog. The environment seemed calm and family. They were very friendly and lovely. The price of the food was excellent, the quality and service was very satisfactory. We had a little delay in the preparation of the food, but it was worth the wait for the preparation. The beautiful view of the Quay and quiet environment with great food and cool drinks was a great experience for us.
