We've had a couple of excellent and responsible evenings in The Royal George since lockdown lifted and the pub changed hands. Drinks are very reasonably priced, especially a nice pint of Stowford, and the atmosphere is welcoming. Sign in sheet, and hand sanitising stations are dotted around. Really flattering light in the ladies if you're a narcissist. Which I am. Good jukebox, with magical abilities to find ALL THE SONGS. The garden is especially beautiful and well tended, with tables spaced out amongst vines and rose bushes. It's completely unexpected for a city centre, where the majority of places either just shove a picnic bench on some tarmac, or use public footpaths to gain extra outside seating space.

The music is absolutely spot on, the staff are brilliant and the prices are very acceptable. It has real character and ambience. What I really enjoy is that it seems to be an establishment that attracts an older clientele..at least that's the case when I go there. It's nice listening to music from our era, nobody shouting, nobody behaving badly and just an all round lovely atmosphere. Highly...

The manager is (Reece), is helpful and actually remembers not just the names of the people he has as customers but to make them feel welcome ..... nice pub , nice people enough said... p.s. the only reason this got 4 stars and not 5 is that I never give a venue that serves food 5 stars unless I have tried the food...maybe...
