Visiting Malton from Kent. Asked in a local shop for recommendation for a Sunday roast. Was recommended the Station Hotel and all I can say this place didn't disappoint. Would recommend booking, we were lucky but heard people being turned away. Would normally walk past this place but recommendation was so good we gave it a try. We both went for the roast beef. Other meat also offered. What came out was one of the biggest and best roasts. 5 slices of beef, a big Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, roast potatoes, mash, carrots. I fought this was it and then came out a bowl of cabbage, a bowl of cauliflower cheese and a large jug of gravy. Wow. Staff friendly, restaurant clean, clean tables, clean toilets. Only disappointed was I didn't have room for pudding. And the way they looked big to. Would both recommend and visit again given the opportunity.

We went for a meal... it was amazing. Standard prices and absolutely amazing. There was 6 of us. The staff were lovely and friendly, the pub bit was really nicely decorated and cosy and the food was immense. I got 2 of us got burger, 2 got steak and ale pie and 2 got lasagne. All of us were really happy. I got cookie dough and ice cream. Everything was so lovely

Nice pub in the centre of Pocklington, serving classic English dishes. Reasonable prices on food, small beer garden to rear, dog friendly. We were a walk in so booking not always required. Bit of a delay on food due to mix up but got there eventually.

Very friendly staff at this centrally located pub opposite the church in the town of Pocklington. Ahhh, but then these two 'temples of learning' are always next to each other wherever you go - if you want one, look for the other, it's always close by! Handpulled cask beers were Timothy Taylor's Landlord and Black Sheep. Dog friendly pub. I was tempted here due to their food, a very good lure! I almost ordered a main but was assured that the soup was a good portion. Broccoli and Stilton, very yum, homemade to boot. Thick, tasty and very, very good. Came with super fresh bread roll and 'bu'ah'. I shall be returning to sample more of their menu. Great food, great...

Food ok but the wait is just too long. On the night we were there a number of people left as it was taking forever just to order from the menu with an even longer wait to actually get the meal to the table. The bar staff were doing their best and apologising for the long wait but people just gave up. We were told if you book in advance the wait is much shorter but a couple who said they had booked walked out after waiting nearly 30minutes before someone decided to take...
