Such a shame as this place is in a prime location on the beach. I scanned all the reviews on Google and TripAdvisor before I entered this place, and the forecast looked bleak. On entering the establishment there was only one other person was seated and eating, who was also staff. I waited 5 minutes for whoever was chatting in the kitchenette to finish their mundane conversation and see if anyone needed serving.
The staff were very young and obviously inexperienced as there was no sorry for the delay or apologies for my unnecessary wait. At this point I knew it will be a bad overall experience, therefore I decided to drop any notion of getting something to eat. I then asked if they did soya milk, the reply, was as expected from the reviews, was no. Amazing how many places have soya milk to ensure people with lactose intolerant conditions,vegans or people seeking healthier alternatives can partake in their drink of choice.
So alas I asked for the simplest of all drinks a black coffee. Well that was also a mistake, £2:10 for something that tastes worse than a no frills, value range instant coffee. What a joke. Even greasy spoon joints offer decent coffee these days. So I took one sip and chucked the rest in a drain.
Customers should be treated with a little more respect as they are now demanding better quality foods and drinks. Along the seafront other smaller places have menus up for gluten free, vegan, nut milks, soymilks and the likes of, they understand the dynamics of population demographics and how the foodscape is changing. The employees were willing to help but were hesitant due to their evil manager. I asked if they could request their manager. Manager must’ve refused and didnt even bother coming to ask me. Whats the point of being a manager if ur going to hide behind ur tills and hide from conversations? . Luckily the staff members put in my request anyway and told me to go quickly lol. Shame on the manager. White lady with a fringe maybe 5’2ish. Do you think a minor request will kill you? Its not ur dads shop! Stop trying to make ur employees life difficult too. After queuing for 10 minutes we was rudely told that they was closed and that they wouldn’t serve us, if this was the case then we should of been told this when we joined the queue. The sever then rudely said that we hadn’t been there for 10 minutes and that we had pushed in which is a complete lie and rather insulting and she then went on to say in such a rude manor I’m not serving you. I hope there is cameras so the manager can look back and can see that we had been waiting, we was at the end of the queue and she served everyone else but us, it was completely humiliating. We end up walking away with nothing and my 7 year old son was crying his eyes out. I hope this gets investigated as the girl who served us should not be in a job where she serves customers as she was so awful, rude and treated us disgustingly.
