Having visited for thr first time after visiting the old castle I had high hopes for the walled garden, the food on entry smelt amazing, if only we could get out hands on some of it, so as a family of 4, 4 drinks and 4 lite bites seemed not to much trouble, alas the drinks came out in 20 minutes so far so good, waiting telling my children it's ok it's busy but should be soon, lots of meals came and went for others that arrived after us, then after an hour I had to go and ask, as I qued up other people were also asking where is their food, the polite girl went to find out and the food was coming imminently. So drinks finished food after an hour and lots of the menu not available, high hopes dashed but lesson learnt. The food was hot and good but the wait was absolutely not worth it. The staff were polite and friendly but the organisation of the whole place needs a big overhaul, and if the food is going to be longer than half an hour then tell the customer, an informed customer is a...

Loved the Christmas shopping and the garden centre. It was just a shame the service was so slow for two coffees and two cheese scones warmed. Coffees eventually turned up and only one cold cheese scone. It had taken so long to come that they only one scone was left. Lots when we ordered. My friend then ordered a different piece of cake, time went on, and that that we had drunk our coffee, then only one scone arrived cold. as they had sold out because it had taken so long. My friend chose a piece of cake which didn't turn up, they'd forgotten.. Had to go back to the desk to ask again for the cake. It was all so disjointed. My friend had to sit and eat her cake on its own because our coffees and my cheese scone were long gone I will try going back when it's not so busy and give them one more try. It rather spoilt our day as it was such a mix up. Even my coffee was Luke warm ! I didn't like to ask my friend if her...

Whilst we've used the garden centre countless times over the past 40 years we've never used the cafe until today. 3 seating areas, one in the open with umbrellas at the tables, one in the old building itself and the last one is the conservatory. All with plenty of space. It was busy but did not feel crowded. Service is quick. Staff friendly and helpful. I had poached eggs on toast, the bread was not from a sliced loaf so was thickly cut, the eggs tasty, delicious. I chose tea to drink. Leaf tea, nice and strong, certainly the strongest I've ever had out. We'll definitely eat there again.

Visited for Sunday lunch with teenage daughters. The Victorian conservatory is a beautiful place to have lunch especially on a sunny winters day. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. The Sunday lunch was delicious - crisp roast potatoes, far more vegetables than we could manage, good yorkshires and gravy and delicious leeks in cheese sauce. Good portion size . Will be back for cakes when January diet is over!!

Set within Castle Gardens Garden Centre, in-between Sherborne Old Castle and Sherborne (new) Castle, this lovely friendly cafe was the perfect pit stop! I enjoyed a full breakfast with pineapple juice then had some salted caramel ice cream as it was a very hot day! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - a hidden gem!
