I ended up going to this pub twice in one rainy day, while I was away with my family for the weekend. Initially we went in for breakfast while away for the weekend. By chance one of the only tables free was near to the kitchen hatch.
Normally this may be annoying. But it was actually an experience of itself.
We got to witness the engine that was running the well oiled machine that was this Wetherspoons. from our vantage point you could see that all of the staff worked with a synergy that showed they wanted to work for each other, and honestly I felt like they knew their service and food were better than what most people would expect for a "cheep and chearfull spoons" Every meal came out looking perfect with a similarity you would normally expect from a high end restaurant. As soon as a tables order was ready and meticulously checked by the (head chef) it was promptly taken to the table, by professional and friendly staff.
The food itself was delicious. Although my party only ordered a fry up which on the surface could seem basic, each and every element was cooked perfectly and, It honestly was delicious. And I ordered poached eggs which were cooked perfectly. I am trying to think of a better fry up that I have ever eaten and I can't.
We have a toddler in our party and we asked for a small plate to put some of our food on for him. The staff brought a plate out instantly, but also brought out some smaller cutlery made for children, a nice touch that they didn't have to do. We was asked twice by staff members during our breakfast if the food was ok and if there was anything we needed.
After this we went of to enjoy the area of Weymouth, but the weather had other ideas so by lunch time, the toddler needed a nap and me and my party were in need of a drink.
We returned and this time were seated to the rear of the building however we were now seated next to the beer festival bar. And we came to the conclusion, that it would be rude not to try a couple....or 12. (Don't worry they were only 3rds and each one was shared between our party.
The staff at the beer festival bar were friendly and helpful, they explained Each of the brews and which ones were similar.
We ordered a bowl of chips from the app, which arrived within the minute and again we're delicious.
The food and service did not match the value of the food and drink, but I say this in a good way. If I had revived the food and service at a high end London restaurants I would have still give this experience 5 starts.
Both visits in that day were superb and I couldn't recommend...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences of my life, went here for some food before we went to the clubs for my best friend's hen party and the place was far too loud for us to hear eachother the table next to us were having a seriously vulgar conversation whilst we were trying to eat our dinner. The food that was brought to us looked okay at first glance but the burger was seriously over cooked and when we tried to return it the staff member was too busy socialising with people at another table I understand the staff are human beings but talking with your friends should wait until after a costumer doesnt need you to take food back to the kitchen and when the food was taken back and returned it looked no different. The chicken I personally ate seemed fine as it was smothered in bbq sauce but it gave me extreme stomach ache to the point I spent the rest of the night in the bathroom back when we were staying and it left me in serious discomfort even now as I am writing this over 24 hours later I have a stomach ache and the drinks that were served here were absolutely awful we had done bottomless brunch that afternoon and they were no where near as tasty as the bottomless brunch cocktails, my best friend ordered a pitcher of a cocktail she had at the bottomless brunch and it tasted nothing like the one we had that afternoon. Will never return to this place again highly recommend staying far away from here as the drinks were just as bad as the food. Paid £50 for three meals and drinks to spend the rest of the night in a toilet and not be able to go out to the clubs with the rest of...
Read moreMoronic management . Came back to my car today parked in Swannery car park to find two identical leaflets from this pub on my windscreen which in its itself is frustrating . You have no right to be touching people’s cars to place leaflets , leaning on the wing and bonnet leaves the potential for you to scratch my car with zips on your clothing etc and lifting up the wipers and dropping them down again increases risk of damage . But the best bit , the staff put paper leaflets on my wind screen when it’s been raining all day . The result ….. when I peeled off the paper so I can use my wipers and drive safely , the wet paper stuck to my wind screen leaving loads of small pieces of paper on either side of my windscreen , proving difficult to remove in the torrential rain and nothing affective to hand to remove it . Where’s the common sense and logic , the forecast is rain all day , it hasn’t stopped raining , who thinks it’s a good idea to put a peper leaflet on someone’s car ? Management , if you want to advertise pay for a billboard don’t touch and risk damaging people’s cars in a...
