3 star rating because it is a temporary museum whilst the other main new museum will be under construction or refurbished. Still located in the old brewery in the town square, has some interesting artifacts, local social history archaeology and fossils. At a nominal £2 admission for adults that's a good way of spending an hour or so. It is a shame that Weymouth Council have been so incompetent with this building otherwise it could have been a brilliant local asset. I understand this current exhibition is managed by volunteers. Hopefully once the new museum has its new premises it will be a brilliant local history venue about Weymouth and the surrounding areas. Read moreThis used to be an amazing attraction taking you through the history of Weymouth guided if I remember correctly by a talking cat. Now it's a room with very little of interest in it a lot of what is there isn't even real always disappointing to look at a civil war weapon and see the words replica of weapons used. The displays do not really link together to do justice to the rich and interesting history of Weymouth. Weymouth is a lovely place with great friendly people (the people running the museum where very nice) and it is obvious the people who have set the museum are trying but come on Weymouth council put some funding their way and bring back a museum that does justice...
