Legend has it, the full English breakfast dates back as far as the 13th century. During its long history as the flagship of British cuisine, there have been many additions and variations- each with their own regional relevance. One addition in particular is an injustice to the humble baked bean… the ramekin. The ramekin serves a purpose for the fussy eaters that like a yard of unoccupied territory between the beans and other ingredients. The beans (often a meagre portion) are left to rapidly cool in a porcelain prison. Unlike so many that have fallen victim to the gentrification of the Full English, Three Rivers Café serve their beans piping hot… and on the plate! Legends!

Had the Full English comes with toast buttered to the edges and Marmalade. I liked that they also gave an additional knife so not to contaminate the breakfast with Marmalade. The breakfast itself was not greasy. The egg was runny, the bacon tasty and not over salty. The whole thing was very good value for money. It is not a trendy place it is a traditional cafe, very clean and tidy, and the staff are lovely. I will certainly be going here again to set me up for a day's shopping or a hangover cure.
