Very moody woman, literally dumped the plate in front of me. I said thank you anyway. As I went to move the plate it literally burnt my finger as the plate was scolding hot. She didn't even warn me! It was a good job I didn't have my toddler with me because if she accidently touched that she could of been seriously hurt. Could hear her being unprofessional behind the counter as well and being rude to the other staff members. Felt very uncomfortable, normally I come into spoons. But it's put me off massively now. So rude and inconsiderate, she needs sacking. That could of been my child that touch that plate and I would have sued happily. Didn't deserve to be treated that way at all, only came in for some breakfast and a coffee. Edited- this woman has blonde hair and was wearing a white top. She is the manager. Shouldn't be managing with an attitude like that, lots of others I know have had issues like this to with her. As someone that used to be a manager myself her attitude absolutely stinks! She's on some power trip when there's no need for it. She doesn't deserve that role. My hand and finger is still sore today.

Maybe it’s just me being picky, but this is the fish I received today? Ok, this is spoons and the expectations aren’t that high, but this meal now costs over £11. I did complain, but was told all the fish was like that. Shame as we did go here pretty much every day before work. But now it’s not even worth it. Not even the coffee machines all work, so no wonder you get unlimited refills, coz you’ve gotta que for the first one! So getting a second is near impossible.

I am a bit halfway on this witherspoon, some of the staff are a little bit iffy and others are too dollar, real nice overall place but it does get right busy, the food this time was a bit of a let down although my dessert was lovely and worth the money on this particular occasion the staff had really let it down. And it wasn't as well kept as it has been on previous visits I'm personally hoping they were having a bad hair day.☹☹

We visited your Truro Weatherspoons today as a birthday treat for myself. When our food reached our table, half of my daughters meal was on my husbands plate, which was inconvenient but we did a quick switch and began eating. We had ordered 2 extra bowls of chips and they were really cold. I did try and mention this to the waitress but she couldn't hear me as she was hoovering. I'm not quite sure why it was necessary to hoover at 5pm on a weekday but there you have it. No one checked in on us to see if our meal was ok so we just left the chips uneaten. My son (aged 22 with ID) then ordered himself a fruit cider but when it arrived it was a non alcoholic version. I then took the drink over to the bar and asked if it could be swapped for what he had ordered. The manager first checked that I was telling the truth by looking at the order and then said that I was right and that it wasn't good service (but didn't offer a apology). I agreed and said that I hadn't been thrilled about the service as a whole, I then mentioned the hoovering. She said how good it was to hoover during the day as it saved time and all the staff could finish earlier. I was quite taken a back by this because I believe that inconvenience for staff shouldnt impact on the customer.

A few minutes later a staff member came over and asked to see my daughters ID. (she had an empty fruity cider bottle infront of her) She doesnt carry ID when out with us as we are of the understanding that aged 16 / 17 year olds are able to have a drink if bought by the parents. (She is 19 by the way but thats beside the point) All this aside, we let them clear the empty glasses and the empty bottle and as we were leaving I approached the bar and asked the member of staff to explain what their policy is. I asked where is it displayed for customers to see and she couldnt show me anywhere. She then said that they had been watching my daughter on cctv, though why this was the case I do not know. I asked her to elaborate on this and she couldn't and wouldn't give me her name. All I can say is that she had a lip piercing and shoulder length black hair.

I asked for the complaints procedure and she wouldn't give it to me and when I asked if she would listen to my complaints she said "no I wont." In addition to this the manager tried to interrupt our conversation to get her staff to prepare some drinks.

I've had a lovely week on holiday but wont be returning to this branch of weatherspoons. I appreciate that this establishment has their own policy regarding underage drinking, and I accept this, but the attitude of the staff regarding complaints is absolutely appalling.

I have been in this pub a few times whilst visiting Truro but only at lunchtime. It is a typical Wetherspoons in a prime location alongside the pedestrian area of Lemon Quay, Truro and it is a deceptively large pub. On the last occasion I visited the pub for lunch with my wife on market day. The pub was very busy and it was clear that the staff were at full stretch. I ordered two meals via the Wetherspoons App and our meals, with drinks, arrived very quickly, almost too quickly. I had the large mixed grill and my wife had the fish and chips. My first impression of the mixed grill was that it smaller than normal with a miniature baked potato but it tasted fine. My wife's fish and chips appeared over cooked and it she said that it was chewy and not very nice. It was either over cooked or it had been reintroduced to the deep fat fryer to reheat it. My wife isn't one to complain and by returning the meal she would end up eating on her own. However, when the waitress asked how our meal was she did point out that it was over cooked and was not very pleasant. She had eaten what she could. The waitress, who was excellent and faultless, approached the manager(ess) who stated that nothing could be done as my wife had eaten the meal. It is a fair point and we did not seek any recompense. We generally deal with poor quality by way of feedback. The waitress did offer a free drink but my wife refused as she didn't want one. I regard Wetherspoons as a gamble. Sometimes the food is excellent and of great value and sometimes you just get what you pay for. We will be gambling on another location for lunch in...

I just left my purse on the train going to london (so wasn’t going to get that back), my step sister who is 18 months younger than me said she would meet me in truro whilst i waited to get picked up because obviously I couldn't pay for a taxi, train, bus ect. we decided to go into spoons for a drink just to calm me down because obviously i was a bit stressed. my step sister went up to order a pitcher jug showed her id all was fine.5 minutes after my step sister came over with the jug this tall man with a beard and a blonde lady who i’m guessing who was the manager came over and asked me for id. I told them the story of my purse getting left on the train and they instantly with no sympathy said No drinking for you then and snatched my glass. i told them i had photos of my passport and my driving license and they both stood in an attitudal way and shouted at us no id no drinks. This would have been understandable if they asked for id when we were ordering as we just wouldn’t of got it, however we already paid and obviously my step sister isn’t going to sit there and drink a full pitchers to herself. Overall we were going to stay for food but after this experience i would never probably come back again due to the rudeness of your staff. I’ve put 5 stars for atmosphere because the lady’s next to us stuck up for us. As for this spoons the only good thing about this experience was the pitchers as we did put it in a...
