Tin Of Sardines Gin Bar - Durham — Restaurant in England

On sat 29th April I fell ill outside this bar I went inside really scared with chest pains rapid heart beat and generally feeling ill I was immediately made comfortable the lovely young man got me a blanket made me comfortable and proceeded to ring me an ambulance I was in the bar over 2 hours awaiting for and ambulance I was concerned that they where losing customers as turning them away and told me I was more important I can only say without the help and empathy showed to me I would have been scared also 4 people from Sweden was reassuring me to stay calm as ambulance was on the way eventually the manager turned up and said her only concern was me I was taken to Durham hospital where it was confirmed I'd had a heart attack and was kept in 3 days I can only thank this lovely manager and staff for helping me at one of the most frightening times of my life im home now safe in hull but send my eternall thanks for helping a frightend lady god bless you...

After my first visit to Tin of Sardines, I was excited to come back after the lovely service, little did I know that tonight’s visit would be an entirely different kettle of fish. My partner and I order our drinks, I ordered a pint of Moretti, and after sitting down and having a sip of my beer, we both agreed there was something off about it (it tasted flat and there was just an off flavour). I go back in and politely ask if I would be able to swap it for a bottle, and it turns out the young, South Asian man, (we forgot to ask his name, apologies) was beyond rude, blunt, and couldn’t have been more disinterested in what I had to say. Despite the usual industry standard of having some compensation for my complaint, he said the only option is that I buy a bottle because “there hadn’t been any complaints until now”. A Hidden Gem in Durham!

I visited Tin of Sardines a couple of days ago, and I’m still thinking about what an absolutely beautiful and aesthetic place it is! From the charming interiors to the cozy, welcoming atmosphere, it’s the kind of spot you instantly fall in love with.

A special shoutout to Manan, who was my server — he truly made the experience memorable. He suggested the perfect drink (which I ended up loving!), took the time to chat with me, and made sure I felt comfortable and well looked after throughout my visit. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality these days, and his warmth really stood out.
