The reason I'm giving 2 stars as I believe in second chances, otherwise this would have been no stars (1 star as you can't give anything less).
I don't write many reviews but this was the worst pizza I've ever had the displeasure of trying, not eating as it didn't even get that far.
Recently opened 2 weeks ago roughly, and I booked a table for my family on the 25th of July to have a meal and try it (I was sadly working).
They thoroughly enjoyed their food, and I did ask them to just bring me a pizza back for myself. Upon opening said pizza box you can see in the pictures below that it looks unappetizing to say the least. Now, they say you eat with your eyes, but you can't judge everything you eat on that alone. It smelled delicious and despite its "rustic" look I was excited to try it. I cut off a small piece and the first mouthful was close to vomit inducing. There was this overwhelming bitter taste that just ripped through my taste buds that honestly just made it inedible to the point of me gagging and spitting it out instantly. A lingering bitterness that just clinged to the back of your throat for a good hour afterwards didn't help matters either.
Now I know that this review isn't fair in the sense I didnt visit and experience the hospitality of the people running the show, but I hope that whoever is running the kitchen does quality checks more often as that sauce isn't fit for human consumption, a marinara sauce shouldn't be bitter and if it wasn't the sauce then you have a bigger problem with the flour in your dough...
Read moreFirst off, GM was very welcoming and gave us a table but the food here is terrible, you just have to look at some of the reviews from last year and not much has changed....I had to ask about other drinks. We were seat at a table and had to ask for menus when the server came over asking us if we were ready to order. Drinks menu we were just given a wine list and I again had to ask about other drinks.
We ordered crab ravioli, gnocchi gossip and calzone. Two of the raviolis were empty and the amount of crab and pasta on the plate for the price was just not a good ratio. Gnocchi was very soft and spongy seemed either over cooked or precooked, again bad portion size. The worst was the calzone cooked very quickly so the underside was burnt and inside still a little raw. No flavour in the dough ie lacked some serious seasoning, the sauce was not reduced so was very runny and the only flavour was the mushrooms which is where some of the fluid came from.
We decided to see if the dessert would redeem the restaurant and like the 2020 review it was exactly the same bland, soggy fingers lacking in coffee and alcohol and the cream was literally a few millimetres thick. The GM tried to assure us the dough was prepared fresh everyday and ask if I wanted another calzone, why would I have the same bland food again?! The GM did however take it off the bill.
So in conclusion very over priced with food and beer, bland under portioned food. we ended up going to the Stables for high...
Read moreI would like to review this place as we felt very disrespected by the person in charge saying he was the owner of the restaurant. I very much doubt he was! We were a large party, booked the table for 8pm. Some of us arrived on time and we were still waiting for the remaining guests. We ordered few drinks, they took a while to come. The manager/owner then start to ask what time the other guests were going to arrive as kitchen closes at 9:30pm. It was around 8:30pm. There was still a whole hour to order. He insisted that it was not acceptable that we had booked a table for 8pm and the other guests were not there yet. We did say that we would not mind ordering for us and the other people would order after. He refused and once again being rude and gesticulating a lot as if he was not satisfied, he left the table. We had babies with us, which it is already tough as most of us had not yet been on a later night with our babies. We chose a, what we thought, family restaurant to celebrate a birthday. But it was ruined by this very unprofessional manager/owner. We then left as felt uncomfortable to stay there. As we were leaving he insisted he was being polite when talking to us. If you have to explain yourself for your attitude, this means you were doing exactly the opposite of what you are saying.
