Not really sure what the hype about this restaurant is. Everything I ate for the most part was mediocre at best. For starters had the prawn toast which was just a fried bit of bread with a soggy inside, no prawn flavour and it almost just tasted like I was eating tofu. Also had the fried squid, that was probably the one dish which truly amazed me, batter was different to others- truly crispy and crusty, seasoned to perfection too! Tom yum goong was a dissapointment... £15 for a tiny bowl of weak flavoured soup, tasted nice but couldn't justify the price at all. Mains I had the tamarind honey duck, tasted good but honey overwhelmed the tamarind. I will say it was nicely crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Was the first to be served this main but only received my rice after about 10-15 minutes wait so as you can expect my duck ran cold. Tried the Thai Green curry, was nice however the aubergine inside was undercooked and hard. Very let down considering the high praise surrounding...
Read moreAn incredible place, really exquisite, I ordered a chef's specialty red curry with chicken, delicious, normally I don't like curries very much because they abuse using coconut milk, buuut here everything was in balance. A super intense but smooth flavor at the same time, difficult to describe. My wife had a pad Thai with pork, which was also incredibly good. They have a lunch menu until 2:30 that we did not order but it is also a good option. I must say that the price is also surprisingly good, £25 for lunch, on a Saturday, in Westbourne, in a privileged location. The staff is friendly and very attentive. The decor is perfect, I like that the chairs, although they are made of heavy wood, are really comfortable!
Overall, a 10 for everything, 10 for the service, the food, the hygiene, the staff, the care and attention.
I wish you all the luck in the world! Thank you! We need more restaurants like this opening in...
Read moreThis was my first time eating here and having read the reviews I was looking forward to eating good Thia food and trying somewhere new. Unfortunately when my Massaman curry came to the table there were two long black hairs floating in my dinner, which I was quite surprised by. While the staff apologised and replace my meal, but I was very surprised to find that I was still charged the full price for the original meal and no attempts made to make things right. On asking the waitress she informed me that she had spoken to her manager who had asked us to pay the full price and offered no compensation.
The replacement curry was tasty but I would be concerned about their approach to hygiene in the kitchen and it definitely reduced the enjoyment of the meal uncertain of the environment it had been cooked and prepared in.
Friends had pad thia, it was small but tasty. No hairs.
Hopefully you have better...
