Not just coffee; this was a whole experience
I went for a walk at Cheddar Gorge with a friend, and had a browse. The owner was friendly and helpful and answered all questions we could have on ... tea.
Then we turned to the coffee section and things got a bit more complicated for me.
My coffee tastes only have 2 settings: black, no sugar, like my soul Cream, syrup and spice and all things nice
It is a challenge to find a coffee that suits these 2 extremes, so I understood I would have to make a choice, but still, I wasn't sure of which I wanted. i was recommended the Ethiopian Lekempe, and the Nicaraguan Finca la Bastilla, but as i am a total noob in coffee it all sounded to me like gobble gobble gobble. So the owner came up with the best idea ever: a blind tasting !
He expertly prepared a cup of each, and it was a joy to behold. The precision, the care, the passion... chef's kiss
And that first cup of coffee was a revelation. i had no idea coffee could be this delicate and complex. i would have bought it on the spot, except that i had no clue which one it was. And then I tasted the 2nd cup and..... a thousand sigh. It was gorgeous. Velvety, and smooth, and rich.
So of course I bought both :p
The owner ground the coffee beans, after having asked how i prepare my coffee to make sure it would not be too fine, or too coarse. Again this wonderful attention to details

The shop itself appears on the small side (if you were to compare it to a chain for example), but this does not reflect the stock, choice, knowledge of customer service. The stock is very well laid out, with a lot of choice of both tea and coffee, and good descriptions of all. I wasn't sure what to choose coffee wise, so the owner made me 3 espresso sized cups of ones he recommended, served in a lovely set, on a board, with milk. The coffee is sold as beans but you can request they be ground, which the owner does for you. There is also hot chocolate in the form of powder and fabulous looking bombs, which we also purchased (these will also be great Christmas gifts). They have 2 size hampers, that are very reasonably priced, and I treated myself to this for the products I bought for myself! These would also make great gifts. I spent about an hour in here, and bought a variety of tea, coffee and the hot chocolate, I also bought coffee as a gift, and I enjoying them all! I highly recommend purchasing from this company, and whilst in person is best, we live too far away so will definitely be ordering online...
Read moreWow! I was instantly pulled in by the incredible smell and was just as blown away when I started talking to the owner, the knowledge was impressive and informative and the main thing is he wasn't pushing a sale, He was massively enthusiastic about hes product and that sold it for me, I got a really cheap setup for a first time fresh coffee user and after 2 days I'm totally sold for the future and I'm NOT going back, the fact its ground in front of you or before hes post's for online and its nowhere near expensive I'm impressed! Highly recommended for a everyday coffee drinker, saying that I must add they obviously do a thousand different tea's and...
