Yates - Torquay — Restaurant in England

Well unfortunately never got to try the food. I attempted to have a late lunch here with two freinds, one of which suffers from aspergers and can somtimes look abit dishevelled. unfortunately things went down hill rather quickly. We had been waiting approximately 30 minutes for food and our friend decided to go outdoors for a cigarette, as he returned we heard shouted "where are you going? not up there! get out!" at this point my other friend ask who this person was talking too. The Woman then came upstairs to our table and to my astonishment instead of apologising for her actions, as mistakes can happen. she attemped to justify her discrimination of a disabled person, at this point I lost my appetite. So we ended up at the downstairs bar, things were getting abit heated she refused to give her name and details of the incident and the complaints procedures of the parent company. She left another bar man to issue a refund, unfortunately they did not refund the drinks which were only half consumed, i found that abit disappointing. Now as she failed to identify herself and provide any of the complaints procedure my freind started to film, so he is able to identify the person to higher level management of the company to try to resolve the issue. At this point she assaulted my friend and attempted to snatch his phone from him. We then left and I shan't return to a business that allows the discrimination of those who are less abled and ill-equipped to handle these situations.

I understand that they may be having issues with less fortunate people coming into the pub during the cold winter months, but to treat somone with disabilities in such a rude and Callus manner and refuse to apologise for her mistake is simply...

Such a shame what happened to this place, used to be really nice, nice food, friendly staff and the lady manager recognised my partner and me from the wrestling events he attended here. However now new staff, new management and new experience and it's a poor one.

Went in with my sisters and treated them to a 10 scoop ice cream sharer only to have 7 scoops sent over. Considering it took the staff 10 minutes so sort a simple latte out I did not have the time to wait although it wasn't busy either so should not have taken that long and no real escuse for the wrong quantity of scoops.

Sent them a message on Messenger so then not hear back for 2 days, and when I did was told it was a mistake by the chef as he had a lot of tickets on and we should have mentioned it at the time to have it resolved.

The manner of the reply didn't seem very professional stating the reason I had not had a reply was they were off for celebrating their birthday (someone else could have replied to me as a customer though).

I was invited back for a complimentary ice cream but have decided not too as not impressed with the whole experience.

Shame really as used to be a nice place to go.

I imagine I will get a cut and paste reply about emailing to talk about my experience but won't bother wasting my time, will just go...

Had a drink at Yates and watched the game. A member of staff asks me if I'm 18 and I told her I was 18 and she said okay. Someone who I was with bought me a drink. Next minute we're told that we have to leave because a different member of staff completely believed I was not 18. He then grabbed me and threw me out of the premises although he at this point believed I was 18 and therefore cannot Lay his hands on me but he decided to do that and his excuse was that I told him he was 18(if he took my word which was that I was 18 he wouldn't be kicking me out in the first place) poor customer service. It took them 50 minutes just for them to bring us fries on a Monday night which wasn't at all busy. Plus the fries were in a small mug without any plate. Staff member was very ruse when I asked for a plate and told me that there is no point having a plate for the chips. She said she was busy cleaning so she would ask a member of staff to.
